Madden 2010 News Post

Look at Maximum tackle and the suddenness in which the tackler arrives and the wealth of options in this system. The tackler comes to tackle not engage in a line dance. I know I don't know all the features to Pro Tak, when it comes to the actual tackle, but when you see this video, of ESPN NFL 2K5 tackle options you will understand why I critisize the grabbing for grabbing sake.

In 2k5 you could initiate the tackle with a wrap or a hit. I also like which wasn't mentioned in the video, you can choose whether or not you should wrap high or low by flicking the right stick up for high wrap tackle and flicking down for low wrap tackle and the next defender(s) attacks the ball carrier.

I'm not hating, I actually like the idea, I just want it to be aggressive and violent as it should be its a collision sport not contact and racing up to a ball carrier just to hold onto him just for looks, just doesn't look good.

Ditto.

Let us just hope that looks [and maybe a hot GF?] are the only things Ian and Tony have in common...

WOW!!!!

Madden 10 is going to be a hell of a game.

I cant believe the Devs were able to save this sinking franchise.

Im glad you guys came along, thanks alot.

P.S Since I live in NY and see alot of those crappy Jets games.....

Thomas Jones needs to be darker and also his upper-body needs to be more muscular.

This is the first time madden has looked next-gen to me. Gameplay and graphics wise...If it plays as good as these videos look, it might be my first Next-Gen Madden purchase. But I gotta remember these are just short videos most-likely highlighting the best looking plays selected by EA.

Ian, next year you should go fix up NCAA and make that as great as Madden appears to be.

we want IAN & CO to be on madden for as long as possible man!

I agree. I hope Ian and Co. stay on Madden. I just hope that the devs working on NCAA take note of what Ian and Co. are doing and follow suit, and make NCAA as good as they can make it.

Hated the mcgahee juke move. I just noticed that.

Now that the colored cleats threads will come to an end, maybe someone can drop by the show forum and end the "cpu comeback code" threads. LOL.

PERFECT illustration of where crowd noise needs to get, especially in the playoffs. Everything's in there... screaming in hopeless desperation, sudden cheer with hope renewed, the realization that all is still lost as Romo heads toward the endzone, and the eruption of elation when he goes down. It cannot be illustrated better than that.

Crowd noise is a huge factor in the immersion of the game, in my opinion. I agree that that video was a great demonstration of what the crowd factor could/should be in Madden.

Ian we really need an HD version of this vid! So many great shots to get from it, but they are degraded due to the lower video quality. Yet it still looks great!

The nameplates look a helluva lot better... but some names are still wrong!

It's "BAILEY" not "C.BAILEY".

Anyway, game looks good.

The Jets-Ravens gang tackle looks amazing.

One step closer to photo realism.

Thanks all for the great feedback. To answer a couple of concerns...

#53 on the Bears just cruising around and jogging is still a valid issue we have to solve. Getting all these guys to tackle the dude was hard enough...figuring out what to do with guys that can't join in is also difficult. It's on our plate...definitely something we'll address.

For those concerned with frequency of these occurring...in one word...don't. We aren't going to artificially keep guys upright and 'hugging' just so more people can join in. It takes a big back dragging guys forward in the midst of a ton of people for these to happen for real. Again like I said in the other thread, nearly all of these videos are captured with debug options to force them on for demo purposes.

But keep the feedback coming...glad you all are digging it! It feels good to put so much hard work into something and really start seeing it come to fruition.

P.S. Mike Young and crew are pretty amazing right? I am still pretty blown away with the graphical upgrade from 09.
