Madden 2010 News Post

EA has just posted another Madden NFL 10. This one takes a sneak peek at the Wildcat, screenshots included.

"Hello Madden faithful! This week marks a very big week across the Madden Nation in terms of news - gameplay footage, the cover athlete, and some feature / technology releases. What you might imagine is that is that we (the development team) are extremely busy trying to get the game in good shape for everyone to see. So since we don't actually have a ton of time to spend on the blog, and the marketing / PR folks will be releasing a ton of news about the game anyway, we thought the least we could do was just drop a few quick screenshots to showcase some new stuff we've added."

No, I think people are sick of being let down.

Sh*t happens, bugs happen, they probably didn't catch it until they posted it, hence the ps.

It's baffling how people can't grasp simple concepts. They get their panties all in bunch over minor issues that can and WILL be addressed. I can't believe we are still discussing this logo issue, even after Ian clearly stated that it WILL be fixed. Like someone said a long time ago, people will complain no matter what.

Looks really good to me. Still have a slight gripe about the ball being too big, but apparently really nothing can be done about that now.

You have no clue how happy I would've been if they'd just nailed those screen shots from the beginning. But when Ian says in a PS that they're aware of the size issue, it makes me think they didn't even notice how jacked up the logo actually was.

If that's supposed to be the throwback logo, it's not even that bad. The 70-73 logo took up a lot of space on the helmets, with the downsizing and centering not happening until 74.

Because strictly speaking the Raiders don't run the Wildcat. They run the occassional direct snap, which does not the Wildcat make.

Thanks for the response and explanation. I was thinking of the DOF as more universal and wasn't thinking of the different settings. Makes more sense now and I appreciate the insight. Keep up the great work.

I tried to do a long fake with Ronnie Brown where I was trying get the LB to bite on a pass over the middle so I could get him off balance and at least get some easy yards on the edge since the d-line was pretty much beat down here. That failed, so I went outside the pocket thinking they were sleeping... instead, I got assassinated, lol. It was a brutal hit. It was also a new animation on that hit. It's hard to describe, but it was appropriate.
Oh ok, makes sense.

I'm supposed to have faith in this? You jest, surely? Sorry, but I'm not going to leave something like that alone when Ian gave no indication that the logo was nothing more than a size issue.

There's a thread over on Finheaven about these screens. Half the posts mention in passing how jacked up the logo is and half-heartedly hope it'll be fixed. The other half think it's great that the Wildcat is in the game, but didn't expect anything else and are of the opinion that he franchise still sucks anyway so they're probably not going to bother buying the game.

THAT'S the perception Ian and crew have to struggle against. Believe me, I'm doing a favor by hammering on this so hard, because this game needs to be as absolutely close to perfect as possible if the franchise is going to begin to regain the reputation it had in the Genesis, N64, and old gen days.

Dude I'm done. You're right they messed up, and it won't be fixed. Good?

You don't have to tell me I'm right. And it'll be good when I see screens indicating the error has been fixed, which I think it will be.

But, a note for the future, that "minor detail" that you think so little of is a game breaker for me. I don't play with any other team in Madden and I'm not going to drop another $50 on something I couldn't even play.

It's not the freaking throwback. That's why I'm ticked. It looks like nothing the Fins have ever fielded. It's some Frankenstein abomination that needs to be put down ASAP and with extreme prejudice.

wow even if they never fixed it you would only notice it if you were in replay mode i seriously doubt that its a deal breaker.

My bad. It sounded so much like the stuff we've been seeing recently from the "perpetually disgruntled Madden ***** crowd" , I couldn't tell the difference.

Thats super tight man. This is looking like it could be the biggest Madden improvement yet.......at least visually.

Some people will complain no matter what? An incorrect logo is worth mentioning. I'll leave the belt colors to KANE699 (lol).
Have you read the entire thread? Ian said that it would be fixed.
