Madden 2010 News Post

EA has just posted another Madden NFL 10. This one takes a sneak peek at the Wildcat, screenshots included.

"Hello Madden faithful! This week marks a very big week across the Madden Nation in terms of news - gameplay footage, the cover athlete, and some feature / technology releases. What you might imagine is that is that we (the development team) are extremely busy trying to get the game in good shape for everyone to see. So since we don't actually have a ton of time to spend on the blog, and the marketing / PR folks will be releasing a ton of news about the game anyway, we thought the least we could do was just drop a few quick screenshots to showcase some new stuff we've added."

Wow, so freaking clueless. Really, would visual aids help?

Let's take the first screen:

Look REALLY close at the dolphin in the logo. Now look at the dolphin in the present logo REALLY close:

Notice how the two Dolphins are the same? But wait, there's more! Let's look at the throwback logo that should be on the helmet:

Notice how the dolphin in this logo is NOT the same as the one in the screen shot, yet they got the alignment and sun right? Yeah, that's what I'm talking about.

Oh, and while we're on the topic? The throwback helmet has a gray facemask.

Wow. Fine brosephine.

I'm saying you're probably right, but that doesn't absolve the art department from an epic screw-up. When I say the logo isn't right, I bloody well mean it isn't right. If I meant that the throwback logo was on the current helmets, I would've said exactly that.

(P.S. we already are working on the Dolphins helmet logo being too large)

McFadden Bush Combo should be fun, both of them are really good QB's

I don't want to jump to any conclusions and may be waaaaayyy off base, but if they are saying a "bug" can cause the mismatching of parts, could it be that there is a uniform editor in the game?

I'm laughing because you think you know the Fins' uni and logo history better than I.

Does anyone else think the game looks a bit to dark? Well i guess compared to the real NFL shot of him it look alot darker than that compared shot.

Great update cant wait for the vid this thursday and the draft stuff of course.

What part of "IT'S A BUG, AND IT'S GOING TO BE FIXED!" don't you get exactly? We know it's not right dude, we get it by now.

Why can't you just leave it alone. You act like the game is out already.

Please have someone double-check the logo. It's a bizarre hybrid of the current logo and the throwback.

I think all logos and uniforms should be posted well in advance to prevent anything like this from getting into the game.
I see this now, it could still be a bug but it should definatly be looked into, it is a hybrid but it could still be a bug depends on how the helmets are created and layered in the game.

Great photo reference. My guess is that when we took the shot our camera was either A)closer B)more telephoto or C)at a higher f-stop than the photographer. Any of these would create a blurrier foreground in the screenshot. My guess is the photographer had a lower f-stop. Maybe f4.0 - f5.6 than our shot which was at f2.8.

We still have a lil ways to go...this is just something rough justto pass the time by...I wonder how many people are going to jump on the Wildcat wagon?????

I wonder why even bother posting the pics of the messed up Dolphins? I'm sure a Raiders pic would've sufficed...unless they're worse or something.

P.S. I don't mean to nitpick, and if this is one of my biggest gripes this year then this year's game will be quite special. I'm just drawing attention to something that's been bothering me for a while.
I agree, I was just gonna post this. Ian, Michael and to whom ever else it may concern it all looks great. My nitpicks: How can anyone look at these pictures and not feel like the opening of the 3 bar RB needs to be slimmed down a bit? Even though the real picture of Ricky is old one you can still tell what I mean. Also Ian the logo of the 70's helmet is great, even have the spokes from the sun, but if that is the helmet will you guys have the correct colored facemask instead of the teal?

Two things that have already been said that Ill reiterate: Im starting to agree with Kane the visor clips may go a long way visually. Maybe once you get the clips in a nice addition would be to have the option of having a solid black or a team logo.

Also I say it again the degree of how ripped every player is looks unnatural. Even lineman shouldn't be so so cut.

Probably because they were the first team to run the wildcat last year?

Right...but look at how messed up the helmet is, and now look at how pissed off everyone is. Worth it? I guess it doesn't really matter to me.

I think people just want to feel special by pointing stuff out to the developers LOL
