Madden 2010 News Post

EA has just posted another Madden NFL 10. This one takes a sneak peek at the Wildcat, screenshots included.

Quote:
"Hello Madden faithful! This week marks a very big week across the Madden Nation in terms of news - gameplay footage, the cover athlete, and some feature / technology releases. What you might imagine is that is that we (the development team) are extremely busy trying to get the game in good shape for everyone to see. So since we don't actually have a ton of time to spend on the blog, and the marketing / PR folks will be releasing a ton of news about the game anyway, we thought the least we could do was just drop a few quick screenshots to showcase some new stuff we've added."

Nice picks and can't wait for later on in the week. Knowing me I would say something about cleats but I can only see one person so meh...

Where Details at? I know he'll be doing back-flips when he sees this.

Edit:
With this I hope to see a return of reverse plays. Maybe it's the ATL playbook but never saw one in '09 if there was any.

Question is, has EA taking this a step further? Can I hit a Ref with the ball if he is in the way? DO they have a duck animation if the ball is coming at them?

I'd expect for the duck animation to be there, but I would be pleasantly surprised if (VERY rarely) I clocked one in the head that was a little too slow to react even if it sometimes resulted in an INT... it would just be neat to see.

Don't even go there, I got burned already for mentioning it. Apparently its not ok to talk about it. Some people actually think the developers are ALL working on the same thing so we can either have decent gameplay or accessoires and detailed player models.

From the original blog:

Unlike last-gen which only had 5, we were able to get all 7 referees in to Madden NFL 10 with AI and a full suite of avoidance (and collision) animations.

i think thats fn awsome but it could be annoying at the same time.... hey but we want realism correct? well there its is guys.... hey at least when your feeling angry cause the ref made a bad call like they usually do.. you can take it out on them now haha.

I hope other Qbs in the gun have that position before the snap, and that its not exclusive to the WildCat
It would be cool if they were signature styles for stuff like that.

Lol, probably not a bad idea.

Cool. How many plays were there? I count about 5 or 6 that Miami actually ran.

Yeah, I think that will happen.

Cribbs, McFadden, Brown, Randel El and LT are the ones that come to mind.

Cool. Might shut up some of the people whining that this will be cheese.

edit- actually that was the option. Somewhat similar though.
Not really similar at all lol. Maybe similar to what Florida do with Tebow.

i just hope the refs are intelligent enough so they stay out of the way on the vast majority of downs.

refs definitely get knocked over, but it's really amazing how rarely it happens considering the chaos on the field from play to play.

it will become incredibly frustrating if they are frequently infuencing the outcome of the game.

I don't care about the ref, guys tell me whether i'll collide with other players. 2k5 had it is one thing madden has still not picked up on yet. If it is an indication and is being included then good stuff, otherwise i dont care if the ref falls down.

Most already know I make a mention of it every know and then (I would still be posting that picture showing colored cleats if it wasn't going to lead to an infraction...).

I really could care less if people don't wanna hear it. It's a part of football, it's a part of individuality, and I don't really care if it leads to me getting into a debate. Point blank it should be in the game. That and sock lengths but others handle that. lol

WOW madden is really beginning to look like sundays, like others have pointed out the logo on the helmet needs to be smaller and the numbers larger, i just hope that we get great presentation with close ups on the players to take advantage of the graphics rather then having to go into replay to really enjoy the look of the game.

On the picture where Brown is giving the hand off to Williams you can see Williams' thumb going through the football.
