Madden 2010 News Post

EA has just posted another Madden NFL 10. This one takes a sneak peek at the Wildcat, screenshots included.

"Hello Madden faithful! This week marks a very big week across the Madden Nation in terms of news - gameplay footage, the cover athlete, and some feature / technology releases. What you might imagine is that is that we (the development team) are extremely busy trying to get the game in good shape for everyone to see. So since we don't actually have a ton of time to spend on the blog, and the marketing / PR folks will be releasing a ton of news about the game anyway, we thought the least we could do was just drop a few quick screenshots to showcase some new stuff we've added."

if you want customization, go get Midnight Club L.A

This is a football game, and Andy understands they have an art department, but for people to complain as much as they do about visors and different helmets, is ridiculous
I do have Midnight Club, but unfortunately it's not really a football game but thanks for the tip, you are a very wise man.

I'm not complaining, I'm suggesting that colored cleats should be in the game, because it adds realism, I thought this forum was for making suggestions, sorry if I offended you or anyone else by expressing what I think would be a nice addition. Apparently you feel the need to judge what is worth to be mentioned and what not on this board.

Someone else already pointed it out but Brown should have the sleeveless option and I am really REALLY REALLY hoping to see the black visor clips from ncaa make it in onto the visors in madden, right now with clear visors its hard to even notice some players have it due to the lack of the clips, but hey im just ocd rambling over here

Why not make every player look the same, 6-1 250lbs
this is a bad suggestion IAO

Why are so many people so sensitive on this board?

I purposely tried to "break it" but couldn't so that was a good sign. But since it was an Alpha it's unknown as to how tweaks after that may or may not have an effect.

I just hope that when the final cuts are made that we finally get shots in pre-play and auto replays that look like the photo Ian posted today.

I'm not trying to sound crass about this, but if they keep posting these great photos that make everyone go nuts with approval, wouldn't it only stand to reason that seeing this imagery in-game would enhance the experience?

Pre-play, post-play and replay. Bigger, and more field-level. That's what we need and didn't get in Madden 09.

They're sitting on an atom bomb with what they could do here. I hope that at some point they push the damn button.

That was a sarcastic statement.

Exactly, these are the kind of shots we need to see post play and for replays, not the jumbotron and the cardboard crowd shots.

I don't understand what all the panic about the Wildcat being overpowered is about. The formation was used maybe 10 times all season to pass the ball. Most of the time, because of the unbalanced line and the fact that Ronnie Brown despite being the Dan Marino of Pop Warner QBs couldn't hit the broad side of a barn with a beach ball, it is a power run formation. Ronnie Brown tried throwing no more than 3 times all season. Often the aim of package when trying to pass was to get the ball into an able passer like Chad Pennington's hands.

Since you know that this formation is going to be about the run, stack the box with 8 guys and control FS.

The way the game is looking right now it looks better than in the build we played. I'll wait for them to put it in a blog, but for those who are concerned, the Wildcat will not be hard to contain. They will show you why in the blog. Now I will say I had a chance to play with it in practice mode and Ricky broke quite a few long ones. But they have put some things in place for you to be able to contain this formation. Again, once they show the blog, you should be able to see it for yourself as to why it will not be hard.

Ricky Williams should also have a smoked visor, not clear, not black but smoke and also tucked sleeves

Disciplined football should be able to contain the Wildcat. If the defense is making the correct reads, sticking to their assignments, and making good tackles then the Wildcat is nothing more than a 4 YPC play. It's making bad reads, not sticking to assignments, and poor tackling that allow the plays to be so dangerous.

I'm honestly not sure about that one. I only ran it a few times and I wasn't very successful. I think I threw an INT on one of'em. I had so much stuff on my watch list that whenever I did go into replay it was to make a note of a physics and collision issues if I found them. I was dead set on finding physics and collision issues. The good news is that I didn't find many and hopefully that's not just because I only had one day with the game.

As for the Wildcat, I wasn't very successful with it, and I tried to find an exploit each time I ran it. It just didn't seem as easy to run as I thought it would be.

Shots look really good!

The DOF does seem to need toned down a bit.

Imagine how good it will look once they crank the lighting up.

DOF changes all the time, depends on who you are focusing on, its all about camera settings, its you can change dof at any point in time on a camera just due to settings.
