Madden 2010 News Post

Check out the new Madden NFL 10 blog. This one features the importance of an early community day.

Quote:
"On April 10, we flew in 8 of the most hardcore Madden fans for a marathon testing day to get an extremely early look at our Alpha build and provide feedback based on where the game is thus far. You may ask, “What is new about this? Haven’t you had community events in the past?” Yes, we have done these before, but there are some key differences."

FYI, you can see that stuff in-game. There were A LOT of "sim" questions asked. All of the guys that went were "sim" players. EA seems to think they did a great job. I do as well.

That was my area of expertise and I still didn't even make mention of them other than the fact that it was cool to finally see them.

well bigtiglsu like ive been saying EA needed to bring in 2k fans, backbreaker fans and guys who didnt know if they were going to buy the game because of the no sim game play not guys who are madden heads.

# 364 ScoobySnax @ 04/14/09 11:28 AM
Coach, most of the guys that were there were 2k guys.

I don't get it, are you ignoring every other discussion and just noticing the 1 or 2 times hand warmers are mentioned? You really need to take some time and think before you post.

By the way you just lost all credibility with those YouTube videos of you.

The guys that went aren't Madden heads. All you have to do is use the search feature to find that out.

anyone who knows football and plays sim style knows the game starts with the line (Ill give them that they talked about it) but how do you go from the line to the RB and not even get a good answer on why a qb can run 30 yards and chuck the ball 70 the other way and hit the wr?

I guess like LBz said, he's here to cause a "ruckus" lol!

By the way, the 30 yd dropbacks have been addressed already. It's a non-issue.

or how come we see the same playbooks? Hell even xbox's fever let you make your own plays.

This thread has done wonders for my ignore list. Seriously I don't even want to come to this forum with this kind of **** going on and no mods doing anything.

I've always been a huge fan of NFL 2k5, infact I played it up until I got madden 07 for 360. I sold my ps2 so I couldn't play it anymore but I think all of us there agreed 2k5 was a better game than 06-09 maddens.

You aint listening or should I say reading man. EA brought in who they needed to bring in. The 8 that went did a good job.

Its sad even when we got on the madden bus all the guys got the game and the first thing they did is look for all the cheats. Every last one of em lolol. Im not here to cause ruckus im just old school and after reading these posts it blows me away how anyone who played football in HS or college can come in here an not ask real football questions

I had a response typed up to a similar comment of yours but I let it go and deleted it. But tell me, how much blame goes on EA for how people CHOOSE TO PLAY their game? I know the gameplay should be designed to curve some of the non-realistic stuff. I just don't see why gamers often criticize the gaming company/developers for stuff USERS CHOOSE to do with the game they bought. Take some accountability and learn to play people you trust. The CPU doesn't sprint back "50 miles" and chuck the ball so I don't have that issue.

Well what described is a person who plays everything who is dissapointed and in previous versions of Madden but love football and are knowledgable about the game overall and from the names I have seen these guys fit that description hell

The Watcher even brought a copy of 2k5 and challenged EA's producers to beat it. All I can say is that this is the first year that EA has invited known SIM players to come in early in the dev cycle to critique their game it says two things to me

1. They are serious about making a game for SIM players and they are confident about the foundation they have so far...

2. The ERA of the bullsh!t is over.... the only fluff stuff I have seen is the kind I have been looking for which is player detail. While not as important as game play I rather they spend time on player detail than adding new feature that I wont play or touch more than once if that

# 378 coach_ruckus @ 04/14/09 11:39 AM
regiles i feel what your saying. but if you say its in the game I want to see one EA guy go on a football field and do just that. 2k made you take a hop step when you ran back that far. taking away the icons on a wr doesnt help much when you know all you have to do is lob it up.

That's very true. The developers intentions are to make the game "sim". People then, start finding exploits (not playing the game the way it is intended to be played) and by doing that, you make it hard for the devs to do anything about it. They don't make games to be "exploit-free" they make games to be as "sim" as possible.
