No! You still can't edit the cpu's starting pitcher!
The outfield does play a little better. No easy pick-offs at 2nd and the batter is a LITTLE less agressive.
I play on All Star difficulty and just had a pretty good game.
I did have two fielding issues (I never had this problem before either) that almost made me throw my controller and turn the game off! They were both instances where my Pitcher was running over to cover 1st and the throw was perfect but he never touched the base and the runner was safe both times!
It cost me 1 run but I did still won by one. I just wish the animations and lighting were a lot better and smoother.

I just played a great game losing 1-0 to Peavy using Joe's sliders. The AI agressiveness was only toned down a little. They still hack too much for my liking. Also, I felt the CPU threw way too many strikes. Hopefully sliders will tone the CPU's obsessive strike throwing.
Cpu batting aggressiveness is definitely toned down on my end. Threw many strikes with no swings from the computer.
Still way too many strikes thrown by the cpu. And most are right there on the edge of the zone.
Outfielder slowdown is still in...didn't notice anything different in this area. Not sure if this was on the patch list though.

I've noticed..the AI take more pitches when my reliever is in there...It could just be me, I only played 1 game, actually I'm still in that game. I'll play a couple more before I judge
The patch helped big time.
I've played 3 games this am and it's much much better.
Not perfect but much better.
I struck 2 guys out looking this am. Never had that happen before.
The 1st base thing seems to be fixed
I only picked off 1 runner after multiple tries.......He had a huge lead and I nailed the throw to 1st base.
It's the best baseball game on the 360

I guess if you are constantly throwing balls in the dirt and getting called strikes then you can complain, but if the strike zone isn't an exact box that is called consistently every game, then hey, that's called baseball.
I have played 3 games with the patch this morning and I am SO happy!!!
I am also ecstatic that I waited for the patch and did not buy a PS3 just for one game!
(and I was tempted BELIEVE ME!)
I don't know about the people complaining here post patch, but I can tell you this about me.
I am a mature, sim guy that demands realism. I don't give a flying fig about editing stances as long as stats and batter-pitcher interface are realistic. (the editing is a DISTANT SECOND to me)
With a tweak of the sliders from Joe or Guru this game is going to be.....dare I say it?.........Great!

P.S
I still cant believe they removed being able to edit stances! lol
UNBELIEVABLE

WOW. I really love how the bashers have to always throw the show in to their post.
After the patch, I am definitely noticing a major improvement. I have seen that ai take three called strikes in a row, the aggressiveness is fixed. Perfect, no, but very playable for me.
For the people still complaining, if they really have the game, then try messing with sliders.
I am playing a game now, Yanks vs Balt. and in three innings i haVE been walked three times already, and I have walked one.
Just not buying it, when people are saying the cpu is throwing too many strikes. The sliders do work and help with the problem.
For the first time on my 360 I have a baseball game that I can enjoy besides the BIGS.

Some people are just never happy, no matter what.
Will be playing some once the little guy goes down for a nap. Will post impressions then.

I've noticed the general gameplay appears a lot smoother, especially the flyball issues we all had.
AI is still swinging a lot for me, too. However, I am confident that some basic slider tweaking will fix the issue. It's nowhere near as bad pre-patch, but the Nationals are still hacking a Cole Hamels four-seam fastball on 0-0 counts.
I'm happy to see the inclusion of new signature styles. Carlos Pena and Jayson Werth have updated batting stances, if you haven't noticed.
All in all, I am really enjoying the game...
Then again, I'm not a whiny little girl like some of the people on this forum

I still have not purchased the game. I would like to know how the online gamplay is now. Is it still a homerun fest?

Man, I had cranked my sliders to make it really difficult, to try to tame the hits and home runs on both side.
But I'll tell you, post patch my settings are brutal. I hit three guys in a six run inning against me and had one hit through 6 when I decided to edit my sliders and try again.
Batter aggressiveness seems better, yeah, the still swing all the time when the ball is over the heart of the plate, but they are taking more pitches on the corners, waiting for their pitch a little more.
Maybe it's just how poorly I'm doing as a pitcher, but the strike zone does feel smaller.
All in all, so far it seems like an improvement.

sounds promising, havent purchased it yet was waiting for the patch. Would you recommend the game post patch or still to early to tell?
For those still having trouble with the OF glitch. To aleviate this let your AI do the work for you. Do not touch the controls. On high fly balls the AI will either completely settle under it and make the catch, or sometimes they run close to the landing spot and stop short of it, in this instance you have to finish the rest and move the OFer under the fly ballto finish the play. It takes practice but this has worked very well for me. I have not had balls go over my head or hit me in the head or anything silly like that.
On balls you have to come in to charge, again, let the AI go after it for you.
The problem is still on line drives where you have to go to your left or right, in these cases youj ust have to hope for the best and hope your OFer either makes the catch or if he doesnt let, hope the ball does not get behind him.
Letting the AI do the work for me has helped this problem a great deal, unfortunately there are still going to be instances where a ball taht should be caught will drop in and it will potentially wreck your game. i guess that is something you have to decide if you want to put up with. Maybe with some more complaining 2K will release another patch for this
Post Patch im really starting to like this game. I found a good set of sliders to tone down the AI hitting. Im getting called 3 strike outs and what I like most is i am getting TONS of foul balls by both myself and teh AI. I had a pretty cool pitching duel with Bengie Molina, with 2 strikes he fouled off 5 pitches.
mY OTHER minor gripe with the game is the pitchers hit the ball a little too much. But I guess i have tos tart paying more attention when they are up
This game is SO CLOSE to being awesome you can smell it. Hopefully next year.

I had a John Maine no-hitter (in the 6th) broken up by one of these things.
Thanks...can't wait to get home and load it up!

Though the game is playing much better, I am still disappointed that didn't add descriptions of the Sliders for this game. It is getting frustrating trying to create sliders for the community but having no idea WTF the sliders really due & how they interact with each other.
