Madden 2010 News Post

Peter Moore has posted the first screenshot of Madden NFL 10.

"While we have a number of announcements and updates to come over the next several weeks leading up to next month's NFL Draft, I'm excited to debut the first screenshot from this year's game right here this week. The old adage says, "A picture is worth a thousand words", and that is certainly true in this fantastic shot. How many improvements can you pick out? The Madden dev team will call each one out in their blog later this week."

As great as that screenshot is, I will wait to see the game in action before passing judgment. This definitely looks to have potential, though, keep up the good work ian and co.

Laboy looks fine based off the pictures I posted of him, but Docket does need to be slimmed down quite a bit from 09.

Thank you very much. That always confused me.

Is this screenshot still a 'Work in Progress' image like the NCAA ones? I think the screenshot is freaking awesome as it is right now, but I slightly was hoping to see loose sleeves. I wonder if it's still a possibility.

What's funny is we can go even more detailed here and show that Bryan Robinsons gloves and facemask are wrong.

I think I have a very good question:

Will there be an option in Madden, or even a possible default feature where some players equipment can CHANGE from game to game?

I know sleves will go on some players when it is cold, and not on others. that is always cool. What I mean is hat many players don't always wear the same thing game in and game out. I think it would be cool if some games a player had Wrist bands and a towel in one place and another game no wrist bands [not counting QB wrist] and a towel somewhere else? [like middle or right side.]

OR, more importantly, after a player comes back from an injury either in game or next game after injury when they are propable or questionable that they wear a brace of some sort. That OLB of the Cards has a black brace arm thing on at the superbowl, but normally not on him. Bryant Young would often wear a leg brace on his knee that he broke a few years ago, but sometimes he wouldn't. It depended on how he felt, becasue it WILL hender your motions.

If you guys are going to be so detailed oriented this year, I think it would be cool if a player went down wih a leg injury and came back after 2 quarters adn had a knee brace untill the end of the game.

I really think the only thing out of this they will be able to add is cold weather equipment changes so that when the tempature reaches a certain degree they will wear sleeves and hopefully if they add it in a face warmer and handwarmers.

Ala something like this.

Myself...I think it's pretty cool the excitement just this one screen shot has generated.

As Madden gamers, this is the beginning of a very exciting time. Where we start actually seeing pictures of the coming game, to go along with the in depth info. I don't know...I think it's fun to scrutinize every little detail. And read everyones opinion about what they see. Hopefully this year, the destination will be as great as the journey.

Someone needs to stop this little flame war before it becomes a forest fire. i don't care who, i just quoted the most recent posting.

Please stop before an admin has to step in.

OMG!!!! WOW!!!! I'm 60 pages late to the party (late work and kids +wife) but I just want to say how amazing this is looking already (this early). You's guys are on point this year for real. Great job Ian and co.......big ups to the art department Am loving the player models so far.

And as I have been quoted in saying lol " This will be the year where we can make a The Little things thread for madden 10". We already have some ammo to put in there.

For Mike Young: I was just wondering if you could take a look at Frank Gore's model if possible. He needs major adjusting from 09. Thanks

I forgot about that, I remember when they used to do that. It was a while ago though, had to be PS2, I remember playing with the Bears and Jim Miller hurt his elbow and came back in the second half with a black elbow brace on. I'd like to see that feature make it back but I doubt it will.

That looks... okay.

I really hope they have different colored cleats in the game. Like actual team color cleats.

# 476 VAHustler @ 03/24/09 03:16 AM
looks alright a lot of things added in madden 10 are late additions that other games been had last gen! Not impressed by towels, refs, or chain gangs. I am impressed about player models judging by that pic. Hopefully someone from EA will get the skin tones somewhat correct because they are off.

If I'm not mistaken,Fever 04 did animated hand towels.

Great looking shot btw

He doesn't actually tape his hands though and he uses black wrist tape if that's what you're reffering to? In the superbowl he wore a giant elbow brace on his left arm but that isn't in madden and I don't expect it to be either.

The day they let me on the team to get every players equipment correct I will jump for joy.

Laboy also doesn't wear thigh pads

during games he most certainly does wear thigh pads

EDIT: i tried to attach anin game pic to this... just google his name & you will see him wearing thigh pads
