Madden 2010 News Post

Peter Moore has posted the first screenshot of Madden NFL 10.

"While we have a number of announcements and updates to come over the next several weeks leading up to next month's NFL Draft, I'm excited to debut the first screenshot from this year's game right here this week. The old adage says, "A picture is worth a thousand words", and that is certainly true in this fantastic shot. How many improvements can you pick out? The Madden dev team will call each one out in their blog later this week."

These are quite small details...you'll have to get your super critical eyes out. I never thought there was a shortage of those around here?
CPU Sliders?

The grass is textured, it's just not 3D. The last time we had 3D grass in Madden we got the following photo, and personally I think art shoulda called John Deere for help:

Spoken like a gentlemen, sir. Happy b-day (in advance).

I'm going to take a look at Big Ben first thing in the morning. It might be the angle, but I'll see if I can make him a little bulkier.

Sweet. I think it's pretty close, but maybe a little bit more bulk would help, because he's bigger than a lot of QBs.

Still amazed by this pic, and I've looked at it like 30 times today. Now I'm really excited to hear about franchise since all the visual stuff got in..

But I still ask - Whats up with the lame Reebok cleats they still wear? Please, is there any light that you can shed on this devs.? It seems like no one will answer anything related to the cleats here or on the NCAA board.

Some players just wear giant shoulder pads compared to others (Barry Sanders comes to mind), It could just be the angle looking at it more now but it looks like he is also a bit of weight in the hind quaters as well. maybe 10 to 15 pounds but other than that I would say he looks spot on.

Great job so far big guy - it's a good sign IMO when we actually need to actually make a quarterback BIGGER on Madden.

The work you've done on the rest of the players really stands out as well...just make sure you get the helmets and facemasks right as per KANE.

its some type of pad that he wears that makes him look bigger around the waist

It's not my fault Big Ben doesn't wear a schutt helmet, I mean hey, you got it right in 09

I wasn't talking about the flack jacket, I was speaking in fact about the pure height of his should pads.

I must say the game looks beautiful and looks like its going to be a great madden football game in years. Might i add that if you an fix the injury animation that would be great. im so tired of seeing a player have a serious injury and limp or walk off the field himself with no assistance. If a player broke his leg, he shouldnt have to walk off the field, be like the pros you are and bring the art out for those serious injuries. Also ould you please get a solid annonuing duo or crew. These lame announcers dont even make the game feel like a sunday afternoon experience. If you ould make it like fox sports on a sunday afternoon with all of the analyst like Strahan, and howie long, the game ould feel so life like. Added on with a pre-game,halftime,and postgame show. The game would top almost every game that was evr made giving players and fans that real life NFL experience. As the game continues to be in progress i hope things continue to move foreward in the franchise. As i said the game looks beautiful and looks like it could win a game of the year award this year. Keep up the good work.

Be back soon for more on my opinion

Im going to get a comparisson going here just so we can all see if indeed Big Ben looks bigger or small than he should, this should make it pretty evident on who is right the developers or us (not starting a fight I just wanted to see how close this actually was)

I guess this just leaves me to comment with Laboy needs a visor and long hair, and Big Bens thigh pads should be the smaller version in the game (they appear to be the large ones, if not then it looks fine to me)

PS. How's this for a flat out true comparison shot

After looking at the real and game, I will admit I was wrong on adding weight to the lower half, he just needs a flak jacket(which he may or may not be wearing I can't tell) and taller shoulder pads.

Big Ben's neck is thicker in real life.
