"VG247 has learned that Microsoft intends to release Forza 3 as one of its major 360 titles this holiday.

The game has never been confirmed by the company, although it was heavily involved in the Intellisponse leak fiasco last June.

Intellisponse marketing concepts hinted that the game may feature a Collector’s Edition, DLC, over 100 tracks and 400 cars."

Turn 10 Weekly Pit Pass Report

Quote:
"All this blood and sweat translate into what anyone here at Turn 10 can download to our Xbox 360s on a daily basis -- ever-improving builds of our new game, which, isn't just shaping up to be greedy handfuls of eyecandy, but is also proving to be really fun and addictive as well. In fact, the test team has already thrown down the gauntlet here at Turn 10 with weekly challenges to find out who's the fastest in the studio. Trust me, it's not a challenge to be taken lightly around here and folks have been taking turns stepping up to the task in the team space and setting lap times in the public team space with force feedback wheel in hand. Me? I'm hungry for more eyecandy. Every new build brings delicious new ways to consume the gorgeous assets in the game. Too much of a good thing? Pfft... yeah right.

But we here at Turn 10 also live in dual-realities. On the one hand, we're working hard on our new game. Lots of cool stuff happening behind the scenes and awesome features are getting implemented here and watching the project evolve in real-time before my eyes makes me feel really privileged."

How do you get the Iron Man car?

wow that kind of sucks. And the inability to filter anything below A sucks as well, I really enjoyed racing a variety of classes and having different cars in each class set up for different courses.

Unless you have a friend that has one and is kind enough to gift it to you, your only hope is to see one on the auction house and place the winning bid.

For you guys with the wheel, how do you have it set up? Did you build some sort of platform for it or something?

I have a wheelstand pro I got off ebay. Got a good deal and it came with two mounts - one for the MS wheel and one for the Logitech. With the flip of a quick release I can pull the top post and mount out of the base and swap in the other wheel.

I run the MS wheel in front of the TV with one of those Ikea poang chairs. It has a brace that holds the pedals in place and it works fine with my logitech but the MS pedals are too wide for the brace so I have some heavy duty velcro strips that I secure them with. They are pretty stable without it but just to be on the safe side.

Also just saw a pretty good looking home made PVC stand today on Kotaku. If you are handy it is probably a good way to save money.

I made a custom oak table for mine, it doubles as an end table when not in use with the 360. It's a tolerable solution, but it doesn't allow for a comfortable seating position, especially with the array of chairs my wife will let me keep in the living room.

My goal is to buy a Playseat Evolution and attach a Buttkicker subwoofer to its frame. I got to experience a setup like that a couple of months ago and it made me want to throw rocks at my setup. I can't begin to describe how much a tailored driving seat, with pedals and wheel at a proper angle, accented by the rumble coming through the frame of the seat, makes racing games a more sensual experience. I had no idea how much I was missing until I got to try this out. It'll cost me between $375 to $400 to get that setup, but there's no doubt in my mind that it's worth it!

Naturally, it won't go in my living room with my wife's blessing, but I have a rec room upstairs where it will be an asset... thankfully, I've got two XBox 360's

Che from T10 has just confirmed that the playlist are here to stay but they do expect to at least get a hardcore mode in there shortly.

He also confirmed the tuning option for online play will be fixed in a title update that sould be within the next weeks. He did not say if it would be for all online games or just private.

So a little bit of good news. Wonder if part of T10s motivation to remove custom public matches is the same as Infinity Wards - to control the DLC. Like Halo 3 it could reach a point where you would almost be forced to buy the DLC tracks to participate in the ranked public races.

sounds like it, which is unfortunate. I really liked the way the online was setup in Forza 2 where you could customize nearly everything about a race. It made it especially fun when you found a good group of people and stayed in the lobby doing race after race after race with different classes, setups, etc.

I'm pretty positive that you can still make custom games man.

There's matchmaking, then custom games, where you can set it up however you like, but it's friends only. I believe you can race against the AI too.

Have the game. Will be playing it tonight

Road Racing: Road Track rotation without restrictions.
Drift: No Restrictions.

So no option to filter on classes below A. It also seems inconsistent to include class filters in only some of the race types. There is also no option to filter on assists. It's a free for all.
The current play lists are just downright horrible. I am not opposed to the idea but if you are going to uproot your entire community at least come out swinging a solid game.

Those play list sounds like they were composed by someone a half hour before they had to walk into their meeting and give a final presentation. While they were giving their presentation do you think the team that had spent all their time developing and testing a multitude of new killer online options was sitting across the table? "we've boiled your hard work down into five basic categories"

The idea that everyone is going to have 7 friends online to play private custom races is rather silly. Even with a huge friends list I can tell you a month from now, I might have 3-5 people online at any given time playing Forza 3. Just because they are playing doesn't mean they feel like an online race. I guess T10 is promoting invite spamming more than anything.

Spam all your friends, spam everyone on your recent played list, spam forums hoping to get 7 people to blindly join your custom room. Talk about a bad experience for casual new racers. At least with Forza 2 you could search/browse and have some idea of what custom race you were joining.

Really? BB will let you use pre-orders in that deal? Did you do it online or in store?

I actually did build a PVC pipe platform that was low to the ground. I might still have the pic of it on my old laptop. It didn't take long to build but I don't know that I'd do it again. An idea I do have is to one day use my son's Little Tikes car bed for a new wheel setup. That way all of my boys could enjoy it.

Tried the multiscreen trick, had to go 80 degrees to work with the 2 cars I have but it makes the cockpit view a blast to race from now. Not really sure who the smart one was that thought they sound make a view where you can't see your mirrors but so far having a blast playing this game.

Could someone please tell me how in the heck I get the theme that is supposed to come with the collectors edition? I installed the redeem code and I know that it worked because I'm listed as a VIP on forza's web site. I even re-installed the download and have installed the game (both discs) and still no Forza theme is showing up in my list of gamer themes.

The theme was one of the reasons I decided to get the collectors edition so this is driving me crazy!!

UPDATE: the Premium Theme from the Limited Edition should be free (redeemable with the LCE code) but somehow it didn't work correctly. Here's Turn10s statement:

"We have learned that the Xbox LIVE marketplace code in the Forza Motorsport 3 LCE box isn't downloading the LCE theme like it should. We're aware of this issue and are working with relevant parties at Xbox LIVE to resolve the situation. Please check back here on 11/02/09 for an update on how you will receive your token code. We're sorry for any confusion or inconvenience this may have caused!"
