"VG247 has learned that Microsoft intends to release Forza 3 as one of its major 360 titles this holiday.

The game has never been confirmed by the company, although it was heavily involved in the Intellisponse leak fiasco last June.

Intellisponse marketing concepts hinted that the game may feature a Collector’s Edition, DLC, over 100 tracks and 400 cars."

Turn 10 Weekly Pit Pass Report

Quote:
"All this blood and sweat translate into what anyone here at Turn 10 can download to our Xbox 360s on a daily basis -- ever-improving builds of our new game, which, isn't just shaping up to be greedy handfuls of eyecandy, but is also proving to be really fun and addictive as well. In fact, the test team has already thrown down the gauntlet here at Turn 10 with weekly challenges to find out who's the fastest in the studio. Trust me, it's not a challenge to be taken lightly around here and folks have been taking turns stepping up to the task in the team space and setting lap times in the public team space with force feedback wheel in hand. Me? I'm hungry for more eyecandy. Every new build brings delicious new ways to consume the gorgeous assets in the game. Too much of a good thing? Pfft... yeah right.

But we here at Turn 10 also live in dual-realities. On the one hand, we're working hard on our new game. Lots of cool stuff happening behind the scenes and awesome features are getting implemented here and watching the project evolve in real-time before my eyes makes me feel really privileged."

Don't do like me and install both discs to the hard drive from the Xbox dashboard. You have to install the 2nd disc from the menu within the actual game. I spent 30 head banging, teeth-gnashing minutes on figuring out why it said "install disc 2" in the game when I had already done it!

I'm not all that great with this design stuff, but I figured I'd personalize my Buick a bit. Still gotta fix a couple of things but it's fun playing around with these tools.

Looks nice, Pappy.

Love the game so far, and loved racing online with some OS'ers last night. We should do it again!

As or the design, I won't touch it (no time and patience) but if someone gets around to making a Denver Broncos or Minnesota Wild design, I'd gladly pay some credits for it.

You have no idea how frustrating it is to play the game for a month with a wheel, then suddenly on release day to have the pedals break and not register.

Have to hop online and drive like a complete jackwad with a controller after not having done that since PGR2.

question for those more familiar with paint mode.

If I make a custom vinyl shape, when I got to apply it to my car, can I adjust the size of the shape? I ask because there's some custom logos I'm planning on making but I wasn't sure which car I wanted to put them on so I was just going to make the shape first then stamp on my car of choice later.

Adjust shape, rotation, skew...flip it, spin it, etc.

You just layer a bunch of shapes on top of each other to design some of these crazy things you see.

cool. yeah I remember how the layering thing works from Forza 2. My thing is, in Forza 2 I just created all my designs right on the cars themselves instead of making shapes first and then stamping them on the cars, so I wasn't sure how that worked.

You can create a vinyl group and save it as just that. Unlike Forza 2, where it was loaded as an entire paint scheme (if I remember correctly), in Forza 3 you can save either the car itself or just the group. So if you make a "logo" for your designs, you can load that group and drop it on anything. I haven't tried to resize the group, though...is that what you're asking? Whether you can resize the entire group, or just a shape?

yeah that's what I was asking, sorry I wasn't more specific.

I really like the ability to make vinyls separately (as you all are discussing above)... I made a Virginia Cavaliers logo and it was so much easier to work with painting on a blank 2D workspace rather than on the side of a car. I put that logo up on my Storefront if anyone is interested, BTW.

Also, if anyone wants a sports team logo of some sort that isn't on the Storefront (or is available for more money than you want to spend), let me know and I can try to make it and then gift it to you. I enjoy working with the vinyl editor, for better or worse, and that feature is actually the reason I became a fan of the Forza series in the first place.

I've got a challenge for you.

Make the VT logo. Oohhh... you could make the oldschool VT logo.

Amazing game. Anybody who does not own this yet needs to get it!

# 334 Hooe @ 10/29/09 02:53 AM
I'll do that for ya, Giggas, even though it's gonna disgust me to paint maroon and orange.

As a side, if anyone in here's a fan of Jimmy Eat World and specifically their album "Clarity", I put this car in the Auction House about ten minutes ago:

Anyone here part of a league? I was in one in the last game and it was fun as hell building up your car for the upcoming events.

# 336 Hooe @ 10/29/09 03:16 AM
Giggas, how's this?

EDIT: In the future I'm going to post any car screenshots into an OS Screenshot album rather than clutter up a thread; see signature for link. I may post the best ones and will still post requests into this thread, however.

Search for jube if you want this. It's free.

# 338 av7 @ 10/29/09 06:00 AM
You guys should make a Forza custom car thread like the Nascar 09 one. Hell I'll even sticky it for you

# 339 Pappy Knuckles @ 10/29/09 06:58 AM
That Jube dude is amazing. I downloaded all of his designs.

How do you race a time trial with a car from your garage?

For instance, I wanted to race the Ring with a Corvette that I bought. The only time trial I see is the Leaderboard option. So I select S Class and Nurburgring, but it seems like I can only select a stock car to race with. I know this can't be the case because I see times up there with cars that definitely aren't stock S Class.
