"VG247 has learned that Microsoft intends to release Forza 3 as one of its major 360 titles this holiday.

The game has never been confirmed by the company, although it was heavily involved in the Intellisponse leak fiasco last June.

Intellisponse marketing concepts hinted that the game may feature a Collector’s Edition, DLC, over 100 tracks and 400 cars."

Turn 10 Weekly Pit Pass Report

Quote:
"All this blood and sweat translate into what anyone here at Turn 10 can download to our Xbox 360s on a daily basis -- ever-improving builds of our new game, which, isn't just shaping up to be greedy handfuls of eyecandy, but is also proving to be really fun and addictive as well. In fact, the test team has already thrown down the gauntlet here at Turn 10 with weekly challenges to find out who's the fastest in the studio. Trust me, it's not a challenge to be taken lightly around here and folks have been taking turns stepping up to the task in the team space and setting lap times in the public team space with force feedback wheel in hand. Me? I'm hungry for more eyecandy. Every new build brings delicious new ways to consume the gorgeous assets in the game. Too much of a good thing? Pfft... yeah right.

But we here at Turn 10 also live in dual-realities. On the one hand, we're working hard on our new game. Lots of cool stuff happening behind the scenes and awesome features are getting implemented here and watching the project evolve in real-time before my eyes makes me feel really privileged."

I don't think I saw the Forza 3 review but who wouldn't trust any review from a show with boobies like that.

80.5 for Dirt2 ... their review scale is broke down into a lot of components so it will be interesting to see how Forza 3 compares.

Terry, any chance you can answer more specific questions now that the NDA is lifted?

Career -

Do the career races scale PI to match your car or at least bunch all the AI cars at the top level ? Forza 2 took a lot of fun out of a lot of races by allowing such a wide mix of car classes/PI in a series and scattering the AI all over. No matter what you drove, you maybe had one guy near you and the rest either way behind or way ahead....or you just built a car way above the top car entered and dominated everyone.

Do the AI cars use upgrades or just stock? Hopefully they take advantage of the 'auto upgrade' option...

Is there a mode where you can select the AI's car and use models from your garage? In F2 you could setup an online by yourself and add AI. You could pick the AI's car but only from the generic garage. I would love to be able to setup a race and use all DTM painted cars from my garage.

Multiplayer -

Can you tell us what the options are for the grid and if there is an option to hold qualifying?

Can you note if there is an option to force a mandatory pit stop or globally set starting fuel loads to force this?

Is there an option to setup consecutive point to point races were time/points are scored across the series of races and damage is not repaired between races (aka rally style)

Upgrade Store -

Do you still have to buy upgrades one at a time or have they put in a 'check out' system that allows you to try different parts on/off until you get the configuration you want and then checkout and pay for it all?

If you sell back an upgrade part do you get same money you bought it for or less?

Can you tell the auto upgrade tool to focus on a specific aspect (handling, acceleration, top speed etc)?

Now to answer Papas question.. We're that excited about Forza 3, especially with the Fanatec wheel.> It's amazing !

Here's one tid bit from our review that should be up tonight..

F3 has the best modeled clutch and transmission that we have tested.. Better than Netkar, iRacing or any other sim for that matter.

I'm sure this has been asked before & I know I'm way behind on this but can anyone tell me if they think the Limited Collectors Edition is worth it? Just now looking into preordering, the game's snuck up on me. Didn't realize it was coming out so soon. So now trying to decide which version to get. Anyway I trist the opinoins here more then on a Forza fan site. LOL

Limited Edition is $20 more.

- 2GB Forza branded thumb drive
- Forza branded key chain
- Exclusive Premium Theme

Also included is the VIP Membership. What is that? Nobody really knows 100% what this is, but the consensus is that VIP members get a special logo next to their name and appear at the top of Auction House and Storefront searches. Similar to paying extra to get your Ebay listing put on top. VIPs do not get you a free subscription to all future DLC as was first assumed.

Exclusive Cars Limited Collector’s Edition Cars
Also in standard edition but without special Forza liveries and tuning

2005 Acura Forza Motorsport NSX
2005 Aston Martin Forza Motorsport DB9 Coupe
2010 Audi Forza Motorsport R8 5.2 FSI quattro
2008 Dodge Xbox 360 Charger Stock Car
2003 Nissan Forza Motorsport Fairlady Z

Forza Motorsport VIP Membership Car pack
These models are not in the standard edition

2008 Aston Martin DBS
2009 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1
2007 Ferrari 430 Scuderia
2007 Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera
2007 Porsche 911 GT3 RS (997)

Here is a list of all the standard edition cars
http://forzamotorsport.net/en-us/For...3/Carlist.aspx

LE is only available from GS so if you pre-order you will also get the 2009 BMW GameStop painted M5 E60. Also in the game but without the livery.

So are you getting the LE lnin0? I'm guessing the DLC is probably worth the extra 20 but don't know. I'll proably end up going with it but still not 100% decided.

# 229 bkfount @ 10/11/09 10:50 PM
will you be able to buy the VIP thing through Live Marketplace?

# 230 The GIGGAS @ 10/12/09 11:11 AM
Yup, I'm getting this game.

This is probably a question for TCrouch, but I was wondering about setup tweaks. I didn't play Forza 2, but in the original, setup tweaks required you to stop, go through a loading screen, make your changes, go through a loading screen and finally get back to racing. Can the tweaks be made without going through these loading screens? I am referring to things like gear ratios rather than swapping out actual parts with this question.

Has any of the reviewers released a full car list yet?

# 234 Flawless @ 10/12/09 07:04 PM
Car list was revealed last week.

http://forzamotorsport.net/en-us/For...3/Carlist.aspx

Plus the Motorsports Legends Car Pack (which isn't included in the list) will come with every new copy.

'65 Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GTA
'64 Aston Martin DB5 Vantage
'81 BMW M1
'60 Chevrolet Corvette
'69 Dodge Charger
'57 Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa
'80 Fiat 131 Abarth
'67 Lamborghini Miura P400
'71 Nissan Skyline 2000 GT-R
'65 Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe

...

So glad P2P is back. Like the sounds of these cars too.

Oh snap. Buy this game brand new, or you won't be able to get a General Lee.

well it was one of the most tacky and spammed cars in the F2 auction house, but I'm sure you'll need this DLC to ever access it in the game.

Don't have much use for the key chain and memory stick. The only thing that I would really be interested in are those 5 VIP cars and with 400 others in the game I can't see spending the extra $.

VIP might be available as a separate download anyway...I don't see why MS wouldn't seize the chance to make more money.

nah I realize that, just making a poke at the Forza 2 auction house.

I remember I spent a bunch of credits on a Fantastic Four Silver Surfer car in the Forza 2 auction house, then went back to the auction house later and saw hundreds of the same thing. I hope Turn 10 has fixed whatever glitch allowed that crap to happen in Forza 2.

Eurogamer Review - 9

Quote:
Forza Motorsport 3 is only you, the car, the rubber and the road, in a blissful, never-bettered harmony - until the race ends, you pull back, and you get the bigger picture. Then you realise that experience was just the centre of a huge, welcoming, flexible and shockingly complete package, a racing game that genuinely has a corner somewhere in it for everyone who loves cars, and a world-beating online platform to share that love with thousands of others. For 2009 at least, consider the racing game defined.
