"VG247 has learned that Microsoft intends to release Forza 3 as one of its major 360 titles this holiday.

The game has never been confirmed by the company, although it was heavily involved in the Intellisponse leak fiasco last June.

Intellisponse marketing concepts hinted that the game may feature a Collector’s Edition, DLC, over 100 tracks and 400 cars."

Turn 10 Weekly Pit Pass Report

Quote:
"All this blood and sweat translate into what anyone here at Turn 10 can download to our Xbox 360s on a daily basis -- ever-improving builds of our new game, which, isn't just shaping up to be greedy handfuls of eyecandy, but is also proving to be really fun and addictive as well. In fact, the test team has already thrown down the gauntlet here at Turn 10 with weekly challenges to find out who's the fastest in the studio. Trust me, it's not a challenge to be taken lightly around here and folks have been taking turns stepping up to the task in the team space and setting lap times in the public team space with force feedback wheel in hand. Me? I'm hungry for more eyecandy. Every new build brings delicious new ways to consume the gorgeous assets in the game. Too much of a good thing? Pfft... yeah right.

But we here at Turn 10 also live in dual-realities. On the one hand, we're working hard on our new game. Lots of cool stuff happening behind the scenes and awesome features are getting implemented here and watching the project evolve in real-time before my eyes makes me feel really privileged."

The replay of the guy drifting towards the end of the vid looks pretty sweet. I'm anxious to see what kind of vinyls & designs people are going to be creating & selling online, too. I must say though, I don't think there's any way I could race using bumper cam like that dude was doing. Just watching that gave me a headache...maybe I'm just getting old!

I honestly think it may be the best bang-for-your-buck that I've ever seen in a racing game...even at full $60 retail.

great to hear TCrouch. The rest of my games are probably going to be collecting dust when this one comes out. Im going to have to drop some extra on the LCE and a wheel

I honestly don't know how you can blow through career mode in this one in a week or two. Somebody else said that they beat Forza 2's in 2 weeks. I'm curious to know how long it takes them to actually complete this one.

I mentioned in the review (no idea when they're going to finalize and post it), but I got about a week with the game before I had to write the review. Now, I don't play 24/7, but I play quite a bit.

I logged over 120 races in that time, grabbed 30 cars and 25 levels, as well as over $1,000,000 in winnings...and got 6.2% through career. (I did race in all classes up to the R1's, though. You aren't limited to class or series at any point).

With 220 events (some consisting of 5 to 7 races or more), it's just got a staggering amount of racing content in there. Let alone if you choose to paint or edit replays...or venture online.

Sounds beautiful. Can't wait for the review!

23 venues and 133 layouts.

13 of the venues are from Forza 2/DLC and 1 new track back from Forza (although heavily improved). Many of the remaining new ones are very long and have a lot of ribbons. Some, but not all, tend to be more reminiscent of the classic NFS country side loops than race specific circuit courses.

Perplexed by the lack of Circuit de la Sarthe? Laguna Seca is listed as Catalunya and Tsukuba as Shimotsuma so it seems like they messed up a few but a French site missing the most well known French track? Am I just not seeing it?

Other notable MIA tracks include - NY Long, Blue Mountain Raceway and Alpine Ring from Forza. Everything from Forza 2 looks like it is back.

Things I wish were MIA - the Sidewinder track...hopefully it is at least MIA from career mode.

I actually watched that whole video. I'm not a dude with a lot of previous anticipation for this game, but it looks pretty good. I love the clean looking menus and the time they spent showing the customization stuff. I already have some graphic ideas I'll be working on.

Well two new things have popped up that have me very disappointed.

1. Photomode shots are nowhere near the quality of shots that turn 10 has posted due to the extreme image compression it has to go through like FM2 did.

compared to

2. Drag mode has autorev as well.

Not cool.

Hay Crouch where is the review? Wasn't supposed to be posted last night?

# 213 TCrouch @ 10/09/09 12:49 PM
It was, yep. Not up to me, I posted it 2 days ago. For some reason it's still sitting on the editing board. Has to go through the site editor.

Cool. I'm looking forward to reading it.

wow that's pretty cool. I'd like to get my hands on that someday.

One thing I absolutely loved with Forza 2 was seeing all the different designs in the auction house, some people are so gifted with the painting and design it's insane. Anybody remember the Batman Begins or Bruce Lee cars that were made in extreme limited condition in Forza 2? I almost got my hands on one of the Bruce Lee cars.

# 216 TCrouch @ 10/09/09 01:57 PM
Yeah, and it's pretty cool that you can make a design, charge a set price for it, and only allow "X" number to be sold. Some of these guys can make a killing in-game by designing true limited edition cars and putting them in their Storefront.

# 217 Flawless @ 10/09/09 04:39 PM
They should just allow you to export photos to a flash drive, but of course, I'm not sure how well that will go over with Microsoft.

Review is proofed and ready to go up, so it should be posted this afternoon.

I'll put on my flame-******ant jumpsuit and brace for impact.

Well I said in a need for speed shift thread that I beat Forza 2's career mode in two weeks, as I played the hell out of it. So much so that the disk cracked and the my fist 360's DVD drive died.

I'm glad this has so much stuff in it, it looked massive in the quick look video. I won't mind blowing through another 360 while enjoying it.
