NBA Live 365 Status Update

Hello Everyone,

In our communication to all of you before the launch of NBA LIVE 09, we said that NBA LIVE 365 would be “Made Fresh Daily.” This will certainly be the case, but I wanted to update everyone on our current status, because there are lots of questions being asked around the community concerning NBA LIVE 365 and when it will officially “turn on.” Last night the NBA season officially kicked off. Six teams played, and the NBA LIVE 365 information was received and is ready to be pushed in-game for all of you to enjoy, but in order to accurately reflect what’s happening in the real NBA in NBA LIVE 09, we need the data from EVERY NBA team once they finish their first game.

The last NBA teams will play their first game on Thursday (10/30). To accurately reflect what happened for every team’s first game in NBA LIVE 09, we’re going to turn on NBA LIVE 365 on Friday morning (10/31) for everyone that input a code on the insert inside the NBA LIVE 09 packaging. Once every team plays their first game, you will see your daily changes as promised.

We’re terribly sorry for the inconvenience, but we really wanted to update the community on what our current status is. We thank you for your overwhelming excitement and continued interest for this feature, and we promise that you’ll be pleased with what’s reflected in-game based on the real NBA season. It’ll be a long, enjoyable journey for all of us to enjoy!

Thing is Reuben, if changes are made, then so is the game.

Teams and players generally do the same things...

One game is one game.. so that is what the rewind games are.. where they took the most shots, who was aggressive (not that you can score at will by driving) who most likely drove to the middle, who took spot up shots from the right corner, etc..

If the teams did that for a span of time then it would be reflected in the game via DNA

but one game doesnt change a teams tendency style

Tendencies are not changed daily according to EA. They are changed every 10 games or so. The information is gathered from Synergy, saved, averaged and passed along to you every group of games, not daily.

Rosters and rewind games are available the next day. Once they get things rolling smoothly, this is what you can expect.

There is a lot of misinformation and confusion regarding this feature. But this is what we were told how the feature would be implemented. Unless things have changed since then, tendencies and such will not change daily.

But will the DNA tendencies for each player change for the particular rewind games that would be downloaded from day to day? Or does just the team DNA change from day to day with each new set of rewind games?

DNA changes for each player will have their DNA tendencies saved per "blueprint."

Think of each day as a snap shot. You will have 10 games or so with the same snapshot, or "DNA" before you will see a change. That change will take into account the 10 games played and update accordingly.

This is how it was explained to us at the Community Day and I have verified this again. If this has changed, hopefully a dev. will chime in and inform us of the change.

ok i finally have the rewind games working. all three of houston's games are now available, and as promised, the dna appears accurate...

I don't agree with that at all.

People in the forums have been flinging the word "DNA" around when they make comments and running with it. What I just posted is the same information I've posted repeatedly ever since the community day.

A player's DNA means their tendencies. Ratings, lineups and such have nothing to do with that.

And everyone is holding their feet to the fire about "Made Fresh Daily" when that refers to the rewind games that will (should) be available the next day, after a game is played as well as DNA updates throughout the season. Some are taking that to mean daily DNA updates but they've never claimed daily updates to DNA as far as I know.

If they have, I've never seen it personally. That would certainly be unfair to the consumer.

So is your complaint now that they aren't up****** the DNA on a daily basis, or that they weren't up****** the lineups and such on a daily basis?

My understanding is that the daily updates are now live, is that not correct?

So I tried to read alot of this thread. Just bought live 09 and popped it in. Prompted update(patch I think) then prompted NBA live 365 and all my player DNAs are at 15 or 14 for everything?! So I assume we are waiting on the ACTUAL update? I checked on here a few days ago and I thought it was supposed to be out on Halloween(Friday) Guess not. So are we stuck using these "even" tendencies or can we use the defaults? I don't think Tim Duncan has a 14% tendancy from beyond the arc? I kinda bought the game assuming the 365 would be up and running. Heck do they even have the iverson trade yet? Hmmm.... Daily huh? Well the season has started and no update I assume. So I'll check back, oh well back to Madden.

And George Hill for the Spurs isn't a 6'5" 200 lb SF/SG. He's a 6'2" 180 lb PG/SG. I guess I'm just dissapointed because I just got the game but I thought that was kinda the point of this years NBA live series was accurate daily updates.

Well there you go. Poor wording on their part since you do receive the updates from every single day, just not the day of.

Just to let you know my man, whenever we have a player that wasn't shipped on the disc created by NBA LIVE 365, it's built as a generic player which we'll overwrite in a manual roster update.

both. actually i just want them to fix the 14-15s for everyone's dna now...

also, is it true all of your settings will reset after every dna update? that's no good...

They'll update team tendencies about very 10 days. There is on way to get a true book on what teams or players are doing after only a few games.
