Wow they changed the feel a lot. Obviously if you played 2K8 a lot you can pick up 2K9 and go but you'll notice a difference immediately especially with the Isomotion and player animations (that lock you in.)
Blocks are a lot more common and if you work on timing your swipes it feels like u can actually rip ppl now when they have the ball over their head. Unbelievably I saw a charge a few possessions into my first game, a rarity as you well all know in 2K8.
You can tell they really did work on perfecting the camera angles and I love how players grunt when they dunk hard. I did the Kobe hand switch dunk on a breakaway and it was fantastic.
In regards to the visuals, I'm assuming they compressed the hell outta stuff to keep the demo size low b/c some of the graphics such as the player images when substituting look low-res even on an HDTV.

man, i really want to get this demo now... all these impressions are great, i'm still going to try and hold out until tues-wed when i can get the full game and play it then first, but it's going to be tough
Just seen Rondo split the double team by dribble the ball behind his back. Man oh man..
Man this game is going to be insane. I remember for 2K7 demo there wasn't audio either and the game itself was mind blowing. I think I can say the same for 2K9 in terms of improvement. I don't know how the entire game will play, but the quarter of play was amazing.
One thing that stood out to me right away was the Lock on d options. You can play to the right/left/center - close/medium/out - which is impressive. I played Kobe to right so he would have to drive left and his *** got blocked by the Big Ticket.
Then when I was playing as the Lakers, I made a bad *** and Allen went on the fast break. Odom caught up from behind and make a ridiculous block off the glass - WOW.
The lay up animations were sick, the dribble animations were as well, player movement was great as well. Can't wait to utilize off ball control.
I think the difficulty setting was set fairly low because many shots seemed to be going down, but that is just a matter of sliders and not gameplay.
I CANNOT wait until I get my hands on this game! Hopefully tomorrow

I played it does it seem like your teammates don't want to play defense and the cpu makes everything it seems like and gets a lot of fastbreaks
Well...
To me the graphics really haven't made any type of jump again this year..the game play is nice but hard to tell when you can't call plays.Faces,Uniforms,Arena looks spot on.
Very hard to pick this year. Both games have there ups and downs.Oh heck i'll just buy both again
my rating of the 2k9 demo 7.5/10(its a demo remember.lol)

Just wait until you see what Rondo can do. Someone will post it here when they find it.
Guys complaining about the jaggies realize one thing. the ps3 does not have anti aliasing built in, the 360 does(4x of it), it was decision by Sony to not have anti aliasing built into the system for whatever reason. that means dev's have to go above and beyond to get jaggies out of ps3 versions...the retail won't be much different.
When the CPU players use off-ball screens, are they ALWAYS pretty much open or are they sometimes covered? Is there a good balance there?
