You can even here coaches shouting out from the bench stuff like "who's got that guy!"

There is not a separate dunk button/command. If you're in good position and are holding turbo (R2?) when you shoot, your player will dunk most of the time. And a word of advice -- get used to using the shot stick rather than the buttons... makes the game SO much better, especially now that they added the adjusted shots.

Are you guys seeing the players shoot off the dribble?

Yes.

Another thing I noticed was the pick control button worked very nicely. It was a very risk-reward thing, since one of the times I threw one down on Pau, and another I got an airball, so its really all about timing.

Play 3 games and I will say that either they made the court bigger or made the players smaller. Either way I love it. The spacing is just perfect. Last year everyone would get bunched up in the key. Hated that.

The game seems so spot on. GF came down in the game room and asked what game I was watching. She loves Ray Ray from He got Game. I said it was the new NBA 2K9 video game coming out next week and her mouth dropped. WOW! is all she could say. She actually sat down and watched me play. That never happens.

Samsung 60 HDTV and there seems to be a white line around the players when they do close ups. Maybe just the demo.

Anyway, I was on the fence with getting both games this year but, I can already tell Live will be an after thought after playing this.

Gotta go walk the dog and hang with the GF. Damn relationships. Anyway, keep the impressions coming. I cant wait to read more on the game on my iPhone.

Any impressions of post moves? Up & Unders especially. Does the animation still take forever to get off.

thanks. I haven't been using the shot stick. I guess now's as good as time as any to start learning.

It becomes second nature once you get used to it.

There is a button (circle on PS3 and B on 360) where you call for a pick, and I'm still getting used to it, but depending on when you release it, the man either cuts towards the basket or rolls for the shot.

Why the hell does this game look like a PS2 game to me! Its all grey! I love 2K, really, but HOPEFULLY its just the demo. Its NOT colorful, AT ALL! Its NOT smooth, AT ALL! Gameplay is great, like always. But the look, man, im just goin get the 360 one, I really dont want to risk nothing.

BTW: I have my PS3 settings on 1080i on hdmi plugs, but when I boot up the demo, it downgrades to 720P, WTF! I know it was like that in 2k8. So yea, overall looks like the 360 one wins the war, I thought it will be no different, but, damn...

I don't game much on my PS3 (use it for Blu Ray Movies) so I'm new to the control scheme. (360 balla) but I must say the new animations they have added this year are helluva good. The ISOMOTION is tighten & will need some getting used to.

They have NEW Free-Throw Camera Angles which cool. The STAT Overlays are great. As for the graphics they look good but jaggies are evident. I'm loving the Dunk/Lay-Up packages they've implemented.

So far I really like what I see & there's definitely a difference in a lot of areas compared to 2k8...

Good Job VC

stupid question. but in past 2k games, when you held turbo and wanted to use the shot stick, you could go in any direction for a specific dunk style. is that still relevant with 2k9? ie, turbo plus UP on the shot stock was a basic dunk, turbo plus DOWN on the shotstick was reverse, turbo plus LEFT was a style dunk, turbo plus RIGHT was a power dunk.
