The demo is awesome, been playing it for 3hrs straight yesterday and currently playing again as I'm typing. I dunno if it's cuz this is a demo but I'm playing the 360 and I can't get the alley to work.

I tried LT+A and it doesn't work. Sorry if this has been asked before but is that still the same button to use? or is it cuz it's the demo and I have to wait til the full game comes out to use it?

It's LT+A. Make sure you're not holding RT.

woops...I think that's my problem too... thanks

That was my problem because I was trying to throw alleys while I was turboing on the fast break. It wasn't until I threw one from a stand still in a half court setting that I figured out that holding turbo won't do it. RT+LT+A actually does a give and go and won't throw the alley.

when i first played it, it felt just like 2k8. But after a few tries it really impressed me with the shotblocking, shots, and close up graphics

best b-ball game ever

Can you not call plays in the demo? I was hitting the D-Pad in all directions but the prompt never came up. Just curious. Game is amazing as usual. Can't wait to pick it up.

Can't call any plays in the demo.

It's best to get the basketball to one of your perimeter players either on the wing or up top near the arc and be patient -- some player movement will develop (cutting, screening, call for basketball on the low block, etc.). The action usually happens on the weak (opposite) side of the court off the ball where someone will come off a screen for a catch-and-shoot jumper or make a sudden cut to the basket. Sometimes a big man will come over to set a screen for you to get a pick-and-roll or pick-and-pop sequence going. If the player has it on the elbow without putting the ball on the floor already, your teammates will treat it as an isolation play and try to clear out some space for you.

Okay great, I was going nuts trying to figure out what i was doing wrong. But just from seeing the cpu run plays this game is going to be amazing. They can confuse your players, bad switches, etc. Looks amazing.

Nice to see a good ole' buddy here!

Yeah, I was a big Madden Mania guy for awhile, but when OS swallowed them up for the most part I just kinda moved over here. I like it alot.

Real similar to 2k8, but is feels much more "tight" when played back to back with Live. Live is very "slippery".

# 774 shegotgame @ 10/04/08 09:41 PM
^ You are right. I played both demos and the Live demo is very slippery compared to 2K9. I could see playing Live against a friend on some run and gun straight fun factor stuff. But if I can only get one (and thats the case b/c I'm a broke medical student) it has got be NBA 2K9.

Can anyone explain how the pick control works. I know that you press B on the 360 to get a pick set. Is there a way to tell your player to roll or pop? Thanks

I'm pretty sure I flip these every time I explain it, but either way it's one or the other:

tapping O (B 360) does a fake pick, where the PF/C quickly sets a pick and rolls out of it regardless of you taking it or not. Holding it sets a pick where the guy will pop afterward. Just pressing it in like normal brings an average Quick P&R.

Are the dribbling packages used the same way on the 360? with the left and right triggers or is it like College hoops with the B button?
