FIND THAT DARN CABLE LOL!

I feel kind of good, as far as Kobe goes I've only seen him score a couple of times. For me Derrick Fisher is that dude, he crashes in for gutsy *** layups like he's D Wade. I can't wait to bump the difficulty up.

And when I'm Lakers, well, it's jump shot city right now

Once I learned the controls a little, I got to the rim at ease... don't like that necessarily, but it's hard to get a good look at the basket once you do get there. Toning down dunks in traffic will be huge. Overall.. color me highly impressed.

god bless the PS3

The arena and how alive it is, is just amazing though. Actually looks like an NBA arena for once. I've never seen so many people with white shirts just walking around though. I feel like I'm searching for Waldo. I guarantee you that there is a guy with a red and white shirt walking too... we just have to find him, lol.

A while back I mentioned a free throw camera shot that's zoomed out Broadcast view where you can see way up into the upper decks of the Garden, it's a pretty epic shot even in SD, I can't imagine how cool it is in HD.

Speaking of which, I just saw a closeup of KG late in the Q taking a FT and, well, let me just say the progressive sweat thing didn't show up in SD last year, but it really does now. His head looked ****ing incredible....

Its one quarter for 4min. But you dont have to go back to the main menu everytime. when the game ends you just hit rematch.

I haven't saw the zoomed out view. I can't wait to see it though. I want to see MSG like this. I wish you could set the camera for your free throws...

Just as an example of what I and the other guy (probably) meant by "continuation":

I've really been working that L2-R2 behind the back dribble with Pierce and Kobe because I can't figure anything else out but Rondo's spin , but I just broke it out with Rondo trying to do it in more of a "continuation" style and was pleased to see a different animation - instead of jabbing forward and backing right up into a J like I do with Kobe by simply doing the motion ala 2K8, if I do the motion but then keep holding the stick to the hand the ball ends up in, Rondo immediately, seamlessly goes into a dribble to that side out of the set. If Odom is covering you, consider that your opportunity to get blocked by Bynum after feeling good about yourself.

DIT's an overall setting in the gameplay sliders, I think it was right under layup and dunk success last year. Basically the lower it goes, first the dunks get more humane and then they're barely there and then they're almost non-existent unless you're really good at Sim-style basketball.

try turning the sharpness all the way down in your t.v. menu

How is the sliding is it that bad?
How it the rim/net physics?

I honestly haven't noticed sliding, in fact my main complaint so far has been that the foot planting is even more emphasized, and I think in some ways despite the game being sped up, this keeps it slowed down. Although as I get used to it the players do feel more real rather than all the same - the biggest difference in this game is switching from Rondo to Bynum/Perkins. You really feel it there.

As far as the rim and net goes, the ball bounces off of it good but, honestly...I think this build is Beta, if not less than that. I've said that a couple times. The net looks, to me, a little less realistic than 2K8 but again I don't think all the physics and everything are in place in this demo so we'll have to see in the retail (or Pared could comment possibly).

Rondo's not a great offensive weapon like you'd expect, but if your idea of a good time is weaving in and out of the paint and dishing it from all sorts of places, this is your guy. And the second he passes, it seems like his first option is always to slash right to the hoop, he takes a lot of great angles on that but the Lakers keep noticing it and shading toward him for a second. Fisher is dirty because it's on Pro, I doubt he's this great on All-Star but 2K does like to put the spotlight on a couple guys every year it seems (Brewer last year was pretty bad IMO).

OF COURSE right as I say that I take control of the Lakers and Rondo slaps a latent layup out of Odom's hands under the basket and sprints it all the way back to the other end, laying it in around Kobe and Bynum while drawing a foul. Vintage (?) Rondo.

Enjoy the game
sliding is a bit noticeable especially when trying to do iso moves...well for me anyway whenever i try to cross up someone i end up gliding of sorts but once i calmed down with the control i found it quite easy..i know this is on pro lvl so it might be tougher to drive by in higher difficulties

funny you should mention the net physics i was shooting a freethrow with KG and noticed how the net moved when the ball went through...its very lifelike lol i dont know why i looked at that detail

heres a funny bug has anybody made the second free throw from KG? the first will be all net but the second would always brick...

ray allen is so wack on 1 on 1 defense... thats so realistic.... i can basically get by him everytime if the defense allows it... kg and perkns are always there on help tho

Another nice bit of realism is that dropping off Rondo and just letting him try to crash in for a layup or resign himself to uselessness is a great strategy for a possession or two. In fact it almost feels like a cheese, ever since I've been doing it I keep getting these long runs with the Lakers, otherwise my games are always really close or me getting my *** kicked.

A big thing I KEEP forgetting to mention is the steals - I love that it's a bunch of different animations now, not just the hand flapping. But bigger than that, I love the situations it creates if you get a steal. For example I was Fisher letting Rondo bring it up the court, and from the top of the arc while he's crossing the halfcourt I press square and Fisher just goes after that ball mid-dribble, pops it directly to the basket as Kobe is catching up behind it - 4 steps, slam it home with no one around. Best play I've made so far for sure!

still no one answer my question

# 379 LETS BALL @ 10/03/08 01:48 AM
i love how if you block a shot..you can now hear the ball getting block..i luv that********

# 380 GSW @ 10/03/08 01:48 AM
FINALLY!!!!!

when trying a steal if you hit the ball the ball pops out... no longer does my hand go through the ball.
