If you put both of them in front of me without saying which was which though, no way I could tell. This was only after going back and forth.
Any jaggies?

initial impressions:

-had to turn up my monitors color settings. it was looking extra bland and ashed out
-i saw ZERO jaggies on my screen. not sure what the ps3 guys are talking about. am i just tired at 3:45am?

more to follow

i guess its all about hte learning curve. i cant do isomotion. and I cant just shoot jumpers at will. ray allen has to set his feet everytime. terrible

Thanks. Now I have to determine the system I want to get it on. I think I can live with the jaggies. I have a two year old 360 and have not had any issues. I can see myself and friends playing 2K9 a lot and don't want to deal with the RROD.

Some jaggies in the crowd, not much else though, when it's paused I see a bunch, but in motion, none.

I've got a question

i have the ps3 version

the player models in 2k9 look really good way better then in 2k8 but this seems to be the only case in cut scenes..

when actually playing the game from the broadcast angle the players look really low res and they look a lot worse than 2k8 with really bland textures..

Is it just me?

Thanks. Playing the Ps3 version I only noticed them during the menu screen. It was really disturbing though. I didn't see any any motion I'll have to try pausing the game to see how it looks.

Yes! if I am close to a shooter they have the "Hands in Face" animation for my defender. Wondering if it actually decreases the probability of the shot going on though

# 428 threatlockz @ 10/03/08 06:56 AM
first shot i see in 2K9, Pau Gasol (CPU) takes a jump hook against the side of the backboard.

sigh.

for the rest it looks pretty good, has a nice flow, nice animations. still gotta find a way to defend cuz i'm getting torched atm.

i've played 2 games as Lakers and 2 games as Celtics, 2-2 against the CPU...
-not sure about the ps3 version but the 360 has nice smooth graphics, no jaggies observed...
-i have to say very nice and improved yung player details nila... PP,KG and KB24 faces are spot-on imo..
-i like their little touch during the replay that when you get a dunk, the screen shakes... also like the tumble animation during layups / fouls
- PNR is not that effective anymore, yahoo!
- the double clutch move is pretty nice, but a bit difficult to execute but i was able to pull a couple with KB24
- FYI, the color commentary not available sa demo

with that quick impression with the demo, i'm sticking with 2k (as usual,hehe)...
can't wait..

Yea 360 version looks good AND I have a regular tv (SDTV), can only imagine it with a real tv

And it is good to see you can't abuse that damn Y-Button Drop Step anymore

I didn't read through the whole impression thread so if it's already mentioned I aplogize.

But did anyone notice Rajon Rondo's hook-fake under-the-basket thingy? (One he fakes going up with 1 hand under the basket, turn around and lay it up on the other side)

Saw atleast 4 "sweet shot" animations that last about 15-20 feet. the ensuing layups or shots are missed though. thats through about 20 minutes of game footage. I really need to get a hang of isomotion. its weird but I get sucked into a backdown postup animation when im just holding the right trigger and using the L stick. I'm getting better but I wont make that excuse for the game. if its me, ill know its me. if the game ill know that too. more on that later... I will say I love the steal animations. many are so seamless The DYNAMIC AI though where my teammates are running around and trying to get open is a breath of fresh air. I may never need to run a play. I like it alot

ray allen happy after getting fouled.. Cutscenes are spectacular

this game is pretty awesome. the movement off the ball is amazing. the game plays so smoothly too and the graphics are great. the new isomotion controls are gonna take a little getting used to though. i had a crazy dunk with kobe that gave me goosebumps. i recorded it with my camcorder since my laptops being repaired so i cant use my capture card. ill upload a quarter as soon as i can.

Glad to FINALLY have an NBA game with realistic oops. God is good

I just played a couple games. It plays the same like 2k8...slow in response. All the animations are like slow motion....WHYYYYY didn't they go back to 2k7. It almost seems like the processor doesn't have enough power to keep up with the high quality graphics and therefore what you see is slow motion. That's exactly what the gameplay is like. It's like you're playing a game with an underpower machine. I am not impressed with the slowness....it feels the same like 2k8 which i hate. But it appears to speed up a bit...but the animations makes the game slow. i don't know to explain it ...if you play 2k7 and then 2k8 or 2k9, you know what i am talking about. 2k7 is so easy move the player and feel VERY RESPONSIVE!!

Everything looks great from graphics models to crowd. Although no audio..no commentary...no play calls.

Damn, lucky you. I only had one attempt with Ray Ray on a 3-1 fastbreak but it got deflected lol.

# 438 DakkoN @ 10/03/08 07:20 AM
Glad to see the jump into the defender animation has returned. I tried to jump at Ray Allen after I got beat around a screen and I damn near killed him when I went for the block

# 439 thereginator28 @ 10/03/08 07:32 AM
I saw a block on a fastbreak. Kobe stole it and gave it to Fisher and I went for the layup but KG just BATTED my stuff off the backboard. I'm gonna love this game.

did anyone else get a glitch where u can play to the third quarter in the demo? or thats where my game stopped. ALso in halftime the camera followed my team the lakers to the lockerroom hallway where u can see all the players just standing around in a room.
