NBA 2K9 Preview (ESPN Videogames)

ESPN has posted their preview of NBA 2K9.

	"Oh yeah, did I mention the game? Last year, gamers complained about 2K8 being a tad slower than 2K7, so the developers pushed the speed back to 2K7 levels while at the same time adding even more authenticity to the way the players on the court move and react. In previous iterations of the series, there seemed to be a lot of standing around on offense due to the fact that when the user controlled the ball and didn't run the team's play correctly, the game always defaulted to running a quick isolation for the man dribbling. It was basically a robotic response to user stupidity. But these days, even if the gamer doesn't know how to run plays, the CPU teammates finally react intelligently, helping set screens (players like Rasheed will pick and pop), sending the right guy to the post, and running shooters like Ray Allen around picks, giving the game a much more organic feel as the action on the court is no longer scripted."

I dont even have a problem with what he said... the problem is how he refuses to acknowledge anything else right about the pics, like the muscle definition, the spot on faces, etc..

Please people stop bringing up Live! Trying to make it as sarcasm or a joke. It's old and not funny.

Screens are decent, again I don't expect much of a difference in visuals, since they are still working off the old Xbox Graphics Engine.

Gameplay wise we will hopefully get some improvements.

Other than that preview was just more fluff.

Yea you are right. When Scarlett Johannesan is right in our face there is not need to bring up Rosie O'Donnell. Yea I wouldn't laugh at that either.

Yeah I liked the preview too, seemed a lot better than any of the other ones I've read. I didn't have to use google to translate it either.

It'll be great when 2K finally get's over all their licensing issues so everyone has on some kinda "brand" sneaker.

Doesn't hurt the gameplay but it's good 2 look @...

Live has more videos.

The quality of the game has been proven to coincide with the amount of videos released.

Live has more videos than 2K.

This is undisputable proof that not only Live, but NBA 09 will be the better than NBA 2K.

So I am going to have to buy Live. I also wish I had a PS3 so I could get NBA 09 as well.

As long as we can edit shoes and assign them to players who have generics (and even change licensed players shoes if we wanted to), that's all I want. I don't even really care about that stuff, but it does suck that you can't do anything about those clunky white or black generic shoes when there are so many good options available.

Seriously. You're not lying man. That frustrates the hell out of me.

What used to also get on my nerves is when me and my buddy import the draft and sign our rookies. His dudes would have on Jordan's and Nikes. But all of my rookies would have generics.

I don't know if there is a reason as to why we can't change players shoes that have generics. But, like you said, it really would be nice to be able to change there shoes.
