NBA 2K9 Preview (ESPN Videogames)

ESPN has posted their preview of NBA 2K9.

	"Oh yeah, did I mention the game? Last year, gamers complained about 2K8 being a tad slower than 2K7, so the developers pushed the speed back to 2K7 levels while at the same time adding even more authenticity to the way the players on the court move and react. In previous iterations of the series, there seemed to be a lot of standing around on offense due to the fact that when the user controlled the ball and didn't run the team's play correctly, the game always defaulted to running a quick isolation for the man dribbling. It was basically a robotic response to user stupidity. But these days, even if the gamer doesn't know how to run plays, the CPU teammates finally react intelligently, helping set screens (players like Rasheed will pick and pop), sending the right guy to the post, and running shooters like Ray Allen around picks, giving the game a much more organic feel as the action on the court is no longer scripted."

Definitely a console-purchase worthy. It makes me want a next-gen console so bad! But I can't get it now, have to wait a few months because we have something bigger.

LOL at determining court spacing by screenshots.....

anyway, preview looks awesome....but while I like the new D controls, I hope you can still blow by a much slower player...

I am with WTF. Not because the pictures don't look good but because they are still pictures. Like I said before anyone that still buys Playboy magazine is behind the times. Nobody still gets off of still pictures. We like to see things in motion.

But usually most of the vids are in low quality and you can hardly see the players faces. It's nice to have some good pics - and let's hope they're not EAed*.

I am not saying that I don't think he drops his hand DURING the game. Just wondering why there is inconsistencies between game/practice for a all-universal basketball player

My bad, you said in the game so I thought you meant 2k9. He probably just leaves it up there for extra touch. All great shooters leave the arm up at times.
