Gamespot has posted their first look at NBA 2K9.

Quote:
"The first thing that was apparent from the clip (and, to a lesser extent, the gameplay demonstration) was that signature player motions don’t just stop at shooting this year. Player-specific celebrations and motions will also make their appearance in NBA 2K9. From Kevin Garnett’s chest pump following a 3-point opportunity to Ray Allen’s unique windmill teardrop, 2K9 does a good job of making the motions identifiable to the player. This even includes more subtle motions such as Derek Fisher’s movement coming off a low screen or Kobe Bryant’s no-look pass."

NBA2k will kick *** again ,they hold back so EA won´t sniff up innovations and improvements to their "why-is-this-franchise-still-alive" basketball game.

2k8 is by far my favourite game, and i know pretty much all the issues that goes along with it. After hearing that they are making the presentation better, improving the Association mode (Screw other modes), and among other things, i jizzed my pants.

Seriously, i can't wait.

But please fix those goddamn graphic glitches, and since the commentary is going to be somewhat fresher, please say more than 1 sentence about the play if i redo the same play. Need more diversity! Well, that's what i'm hoping. I'm happy otherwise.

lol. The games will be released in 2.5 months. Not enough time to copy a feature from another game and put it on your own. Get real.

If they don't fix the pick and roll and penetration, I probably won't buy this game.

Why so damn quiet on this game 2K. Live is out there on every gaming site with all their features laid out, and yet NOBODY has any clue whatsoever about NBA 2K9. Give us something. PLEASE. Also please hire me to lead your marketing department, I took one marketing class back in high school and I feel more than qualified to work for you.

They gotta fix that, and the lead passing/passing in traffic. That and the online fouls/fatigue settings were the three things plaguing the gameplay. Though I can't lie, if they just gave me 2k8 with all of the trimmings of NFL 2k5 and Choops, I'd probably grab it anyway.

Maybe they are using the commentary from 2k8 because they don't want to display the new presentation until closer to release.

Plus maybe the e3 build is early stages. And they'll show a later build on Gamespot.com like they do every year, OnDaSpot!

Either way its time to show something. I want to see once and for all, what is in all these preview write ups.

Show me!!!! Show me!!!!

pffft...Dawn of War II intro owns all

anyway...i hope they have less canimations this time around..there were plenty of those in 2k8 that gave me fits..either tone it down or get rid of some of them all together..

THATS THE REALEST THING SAID IN THIS BLOG! we (you) doubt 2k every year but the gap is SO large between Live & NBA 2K that there should be no reason to panic and nag (especially for sim-heads)

negatively speculate off of first impressions once again and sit back & enjoy ur *** off after this year's nba 2k's release... once again

P.S. - i'm sure they probably dont put out early looks at their basketball games because it takes time to put together new build PREVIEWS without unfixed flaws... that everybody would pick apart if they saw (they listen to their loyal OS fans and know their tendencies... I'M appreciative of that)

You're right, the lead passing exploit is horrible. They also still have guys shooting long 2 pointers because they can't get their feet outside the three point line. If a guy has a shooting motion that makes his feet go forward in 2k8, it's almost impossible to shoot corner three's.

The help defense and double team also needs a ton of work. The way double teams and help defense works in 2k is very mechanical and doesn't feel at all like real life.

Still Haven't fixed the commentary yet

I hope they can find a way to bring back the fluidnes of dribbling to shooting like NBA 2k7 while still implementing the foot planting...I think everyones J should be quicker overall
