You do not own a PS 3 also do you? If so could you please check if it´s there too?

Might not be the case since PSN only updates on thursdays...

Wonder if the demo has framerate issues too?

Just been playing the demo a few games. I suck at hitting, but have always had trouble with the hit stick. But I love the new pitching. Can't imagine jumping into a game and playing with it and not going through the tutorial first though. The 5-10 mintues I spent in the tutorial has really helped make it fun. Most of the runs I am giving up are from honest hits or my terrible fielding since for some reason I keep wanting to press the right trigger to make my outfielder go faster. Too much playing my hockey game I guess.

Anyways, the demo is pretty fun.

After playing a few demos games i can see both sides of the impressions. I dont know if this demo is very similiar to the retail version however.

I would say the graphics are not special at all, and the game did stutter somewhat on OF and transitions (like the batter coming to bat, etc). I think the batting swing stick is still pretty weak. Plus, i didn't swing at the first two pitches even once and only one was a one in the three innings.

On the plus side, i did like the pitching and new fielding throwing changes. The stutter wasn't horrible for that matter and the bat sounds didn't bother me.

If i didn't read any impressions and the 360 was my only option i think i would still be on the fense about this game where i would have gotten it for sure otherwise.

What are the teams for the demo and how many innings can you play?

I definitely want to check the demo out after the impressions and reviews being mixed.

Red Sox and Rockies in Fenway and you can play three innings. Plus the pitching tutorial is in the pause menu once you are in the game as well.

Not out on the PS3.

PS3 should be out tomorrow. That was the rumor on their site...

interesting...the demo of mlb 2k7 (ps3) ran much better than the final game. flaxseed, do you have the final version of mlb 2k8 (360)? how do the framerates, demo vs final compare? if the framerate is bad on the 360, i'll assume it is worse on the ps3, the ps3 is the only console i have.

A possible reason that the demo framerate is better than the final game is that the framerate problems are a result of the game caching to the hard drive. Since the demo runs straight from the hard drive, the framerate issue shouldn't be as noticeable.

As for the demo being released after the game....shame on you 2K. I can't help to think that this was not a coincidence.

must say i'm rather surprised by 2k put this game out like this. the framerate is killing the flow of the game for me. stutters, and pauses all take away from what could have been a great game. grfx are not as lively as 07. glad i didn't open the game. i would've been piiiiissed!!

what scares me is with al this talk about EA buying T2, this effort does not help(T2). and what will be come of NBA2k9?! lets hope a patch can possibly correct the FR issue...

It would be great if someone who has the game could play the demo and let those of us who are going to be playing the demo know how it compares to the full game.

Think what you want, but it hardly makes sense. They know we're going to nitpick it to death. Its not like the game was going to sell 3 million copies on the first day and then they'd pull the wool over our eyes and yell out "gotcha".

That's absolutely a crock of ****. Reading this guy saying over and over "MS has the demo it's in their hands now."

Give me a freakin' break. Anyone with half a brain know what went on here.

I honestly feel bad for the guys convincing themselves the game is somewhat enjoyable just so they don't feel like they just wasted $60. Obviously guys are genuinely liking the game... but I'm sure there are a few making lemonade out of those lemons.

Terrible, just terrible.

flaxseed, do you have the final version of mlb 2k8 (360)?
Yes, I do. I downloaded the demo just for the pitching tutorial.

The framerate on the Retail version of the game is much choppier than the demo.

That's disappointing to hear because it doesn't give those of us on the fence a true view of the game. I guess if the gameplay is so good, I can ignore the framerate issues.

It's probably better the demo didn't come out first or else people would have been REALLY upset if the demo was "chop-free" and the retail version was not.
