I think they do the updates around 3 pm EST. Somewhere from 3-5, IIRC.

Played the demo this morning. I must say, this is certainly a step up from 2K7. Visual detail is lacking and color palette is off, and aside from the lack of options for the demo's sake, I had fun. Framerate for pitcher/batter is very good, and while there is choppiness in the field, I don't think I can call that a framerate issue. That said, hopefully a patch can fix this.

Pitching is very fun and very rewarding. Fielding was fun, but throwing is still too hard. I have a feeling that batting is better, but I never missed a pitch while swinging and only hit one foul ball. That said, I hope sliders work very well, because I just wasn't getting the pitch counts I had hoped for (pitcher wouldn't throw anything but strikes, either).

All this said, the game has a somewhat incomplete feel, especially in presentation and the on-field stutter. But this definitely feels like a step up. I thought I would be much more disappointed than I actually was. I'm highly anticipating 2K9.

There is downloadable content only for the 360 b/c those things didn't fit on the 360 disc. They are already in the PS3 version.

I know no one has the inside scoop, but is it save to assume if they MLB 2k8 demo didnt come out today on PS3 that we wouldnt see it until next Thurs? Do they ever update it on a non-Thurs?

Alright, I'm ******** but anyway..

Can someone explain to me how ptiching works? The tutorial makes things look good but I would like a specific thing. Like obviously I push down first with Beckett to start his fastball but then I end up throwing a meatball every time. Do you let the circle expand itself the whole way?

# 92 ninjamonkey @ 03/06/08 10:57 PM
form what i understand, you hold it down until you have the "effectiveness" you want, then you move it up and hold it at the top, then release when the circle shrinks to the inner green circle.

damn, too many steps. should be up or down or sideways then release to center. i too old for this stuff.

it's kinda glitchy for me. It doesnt always recognize that I started the gesture, and the "efefctivenesS" just keeps expanding.

and i just tried to throw a change up and it threw a fastball. it even showed the gesture and i did it correctly. im not dislexic

Oh good...it's not just me with the gesturing...I've had many times where the gesture is not recognized...

i hope it's only a demo issue

Any word on why the PS3 demo will be so late?

Love how it's on Sony now.

Yeah, 2k gave the demo to MS way back in early Feb. and it got released in the evening of the game's release date.

But the Sony conspiracy theories are more enjoyable.
