A new era has truly begun. With the firing of Lawrence Frank, all remnants of Joe Dumars' effect on the Pistons do not exist.

We hope our new acquisitions will be more productive. We made a lot of overhauls to clear cap space for them. As a result, we can gladly announce that we have no players at or above the age of 30.

Team Goals
Maintain team stability
Trade less
Have an All-Star
Have player(s) named to an All-NBA team
Lead the league in PPG (again)
Win the Division (again)
Earn the #2 seed or higher in the Conference (again)
Advance to the Eastern Conference Finals

The drive to a championship begins now! Here is the new lineup:

The Pistons won the Lottery! Both picks turned out great! They moved up to #1 and #6.

Coaching Changes
The Pistons extend the contract of their trainer Cliff Sullivan for 6 years, $800 K.

On the other hand, assistant Brian Shaw was kept with a 1 year deal of his own.

The Pistons advanced to the 2nd Round for the first time in my tenure. They defeated the 76ers, 4-1. None of the games were close.

The Pistons were eliminated in the 2nd Round. The Game 4 loss by 1 point was the killer in the 4-2 series.

We look forward to an exciting offseason. Lots of guys want to test the market. We will clear space.

The Magic won the championship. The Thunder have lost for two straight years now...

Dwight was the Finals MVP.

The Knicks fire Conrad Hendrix. The Knicks were 14-40.

The former Piston, Brandon Knight, made the Rookie/Sophmore Game.

Brad Miller announces that he will retire at season's end.

Pistons Update
Good things come to those who wait, right? The Pistons acquired Kevin Marin for Ben Gordon and Perry Jones. A similar deal was rejected earlier in the season.

We also made another move. It was a 3 team deal:

The Pistons received DeShawn Stevenson (NJ),John Henson (GS), and a 2nd Round Pick. The Nets recieve Brandon Rush (GS). The Warriors recieve Nolan Smith (DET) and Chris Singleton (DET).

Also, the Pistons traded Gerald Green and a 2nd Round Pick to the Trail Blazers for a 1st Round Pick.

We didn't want to, but we accepted an enticing offer from the Raptors. We acquired Jerryd Bayless and a (likely) lottery pick for Brandon Knight and a 2nd Round Pick.

League Update
Both Scott Skiles and Alvin Gentry have been dismissed from the Bucks and Suns, respectively.

Brian Scalabrine has retired.

Pistons Update
The Pistons went 11- 5 in January, and they maintained the lead in the Central. Bargnani could return any day now.

League Update
Kevin Martin signed a 6 year, $57.52 M extension with the Rockets.
Demar DeRozan signed a 6 year, $70.02 M extension with the Raptors.
Al Jefferson signed a 5 year, $96.69 M extension with the Jazz.
Lou Williams signed a 5 year, $38.69 M extension with the Suns.
Jameer Nelson signed a cheap, 5 year extension of about $20 M.

The Kings fired their coach Keith Smart. He was 8-21 this year.

Pistons Update
The Pistons continue to hold on to the divison. They are 20-6.
The Pistons traded Thabo Sefolosha and a 2nd Round Pick for next year to the Raptors for Michael Redd. Sefolosha was seriously unproductive. Redd is known for his scoring. The Pistons also have more cap space.

The Pistons refused a questionable deal from the Magic. They expected me to give them Brandon Knight and Perry Jones for Daniel Orton and Ryan Anderson. Sorry. Absolutely not.

Andre Bargnani also broke his jaw. This is his second serious injury. He could be out for up to the next 2 months! He is the team's top scorer...

Michael Redd strained his groin. Gerald Green will take most of his minutes.
Posted on June 26, 2012 at 03:20 PM.
The Pistons are finally leading the Central! They went 10-4 in November!

It was, however, an active month:

The Pistons declined an enticing offer from the Mavericks. It would have sent Andrea Bargnani and Ben Gordon to the Mavs for Dirk Nowitzki and Jason Kidd. In my opinion, both are too old for me.

The Pistons also declined a potential offer that would've sent Michael Beasley and Brandon Knight to the Bobcats for Kemba Walker and DJ Augustin. The deal would not have solved any of the Pistons' issues.

However, the Pistons sent Brandon Bass to the Wizards for Mehmet Okur and Chris Singleton. The Pistons have too many power forwards, and this is also a 2 for 1 deal. We sort of "unloaded" Bass, and we get two cheap contracts in return.

Elsewhere in the NBA, there were more extensions:

Blake Griffin (LAC): 6 years, $106.02 M
Dwight Howard (ORL): 5 years, $99.3 M
Ray Allen (BOS): 1 year, $3.44 M
James Harden (OKC): 6 years, $88.73 M
Gerald Wallace (SAC): 5 years, $45.74 M
Tyreke Evans (SAC): 5 years, $70.41 M
Deron Williams (NJ): 5 years, $87.72 M
Jonny Flynn (POR): 5 years, $45.87 M
Mo Williams (LAC): 6 years, $36.83 M
Ty Lawson (DEN): 5 years, $82.24 M
Jrue Holliday (PHI): 5 years, $55.29 M
Darren Collison (IND): 5 years, $55.09 M
Stephen Curry (GS): 5 years, $84.08 M
