Even though the Huskies didn't play this week it didn't stop pollsters from moving them up a few notches. After a few upsets ahead of them the Huskies have climbed to #17 in this weeks coaches poll

Seattle - It wasn't always pretty, and for a split second it looked bleak, but just as it looked like Boise State had sucked all of the life out of a raucous crowd at the Huskies shiny new home, Jaydon Mickens saved the day. After a Boise State touchdown capped a 17-0 run to put the Broncos up 31-28, Mickens fielded the ensuing kickoff in his own endzone, started left, made one cut, and shot life right back into the building. When asked about it after the game, Mickens said, "I just made a cut behind my blocker and next thing I knew I saw nothing but green, so I just started running as fast as I could." He ran fast enough to save the Grand Opening of the Huskies brand new remodled stadium, which got rave reviews from fans, players, and coaches. Now the Huskies will relax and enjoy a week off before traveling to Chicago to play in another classic stadium that has been recently remodled, the famous Soldier Field, where they will take on Illinois.
