Seahawks lose to Patriots in Super Bowl XLVIII 43-28
East Rutherford - The city of Seattle is going to have to wait one more year to celebrate a champion. The Seattle Seahawks dream season came to a nightmare of an end on on Super Bowl Sunday. Despite a valiant effort to rally in the 4th Quarter, the Seahawks could not overcome turnovers, and the defense could not stop Tom Brady as the Patriots held on for their fourth Super Bowl Championship. After a Jermaine Kearse kickoff return brought the Seahawks to within six, it seemed as momentum had finally swung Seattle's way, but it was Tom Brady's championship moxy that proved to be the difference in this one as he calmly lead his team down the field soon after, and threw the touchdown that finally iced the game for the Patriots. Now it's another offseason of should have been's for the Seahawks who still have an extremely young core led by quarterback Russell Wilson, who threw 3 touchdowns in this one and played relatively well in his first appearance in the big game. You would think the Seahawks will be favorites to get back here once again next season. Until then the Seahawks will head back to the VMAC, to pack up their lockers, take their exit interviews, and wonder what if???

Players to Watch:
Offense:

Tom Brady - QB: The Patriots signal caller really needs zero introduction. He is one of the most famous men to ever play the sport, and for good reason. In this game he will be chasing his elusive 4th super bowl ring in what some have whispered may be his last season.
Defense:

Vince Wilfork - DT: The most destructive player in the league at his position. Wilfork will make it hard for Marshawn Lynch to get much going in this one.
Prediction: The feel good story of golden boy Tom Brady retiring on top is a dream for the media, but anyone who has watched these Seahawks play for the last month can tell that they are on a whole other level from the rest of the league. Their NFC championship rout proved that this team is as focused as ever on claiming the ultimate prize. Hold on to your hats Seattle. Come Monday, you may finally have reason to celebrate.

STATEMENT IN SEATTLE
Seahawks pound 49ers in rubber match. Advance to Super Bowl
Seattle - The Seahawks sure picked a heck of a time to play their best game of the season. Seattle held the 49ers to under 100 yards both rushing and passing, forced 3 turnovers, and anihillated the 49ers 47-13 to advance to their second super bowl in franchise history. The 49ers had no chance moving the ball on the inspired Seahawks defense, and Russell Wilson, and Marshawn Lynch who both struggled mightily the last time these two teams played had zero issues going up and down the field. The big key in this game though was the special teams, as huge kick and punt returns put the Seahawks in great field position the entire game. The Seahawks will soak this in for a couple days before the big game against the Tom Brady led Patriots in New York.

For the first time in history, the Seattle Seahawks and San Francisco 49ers will meet in the playoffs, and it will be all on the line in this one, as the winner of this game will represent the NFC in the Super Bowl in two weeks. This matchup will be the culmination of what has become the greatest rivalry in the NFL. The two teams split their match ups during the regular season, and it's now only fitting that the rubber match will be for all the marbles.

Players to Watch:
Offense:

Colin Kaepernick - QB: It will all be on the tatooed shoulders of Kaepernick to get the 49ers back to the Super Bowl. His previous trips to CenturyLink Field have not been pleasant, but he will have to overcome those demons if he wants to take his team to the promised land.
Defense:

Patrick Willis - MLB: The premier player on the premier defense in the league. He will be keyed on stopping Marshawn Lynch on Sunday which he did a fine job of last time these two met.
Prediction: These two teams are pretty much dead even. They had the two best records in the NFL, and each beat each other at home this year. That factor is really the only difference I can see in this game, and will carry the Seahawks to their first Super Bowl since 2005.

WIN AND ADVANCE
Hawks force 4 turnovers, Pull away for convincing win
Seattle - The Seahawks are moving on after a convincing win over the Dallas Cowboys at CenturyLink Field. Unlike the Seahawks last few opponents the Cowboys were able to move the ball on the Seahawks at times, but costly turnovers doomed the Cowboys into the same fate as the last few Hawks opponents as they ended up getting blown out 33-9. Romo's 3 picks won't do much in Dallas to bury his reputation for coming up small in big moments. Meanwhile Richard Sherman's penchant for the spotlight continued to show as he intercepted Romo twice, once where he simply out fought perhaps the most physical receiver in the league, Dez Bryant for the ball. It was that kind of fight that the Seahawks showed all game long eventually wearing out the Cowboys in the second half for the victory. Now for the second time in franchise history, the Seahawks will host the NFC championship game at CenturyLink Field, as they will await the winner of tomorrow's showdown between the 49ers, and Eagles.

Player of the Game:

Richard Sherman - CB: Sherman may have made the defining moment for the Seahawks season Saturday night when he went up and out fought Dez Bryant for a huge interception in the third quarter. He also had another pick in the first quarter to set the tone for the Seahawks win.

The Seattle Seahawks welcome the Dallas Cowboys to CenturyLink Field for a Divisional Playoff match up. This is the rematch of the 2006 playoff game with the infamous botched snap by Cowboys QB Tony Romo which led to a 21-20 win for the Seattle Seahawks. Seattle is 5-1 all time in playoff games at CenturyLink Field.

Players to Watch:
Offense:

Dez Bryant - WR: Bryant has quickly become one of the elite receivers in the league today. He is big, and physical, and will be a great match up for the physical corners of Seattle.
Defense:

DeMarcus Ware - OLB: The veteran pass-rusher is still a force to be reckoned with. The Hawks will have problems keeping him off of Russell Wilson all day.
Prediction: The Cowboys match up well with Seattle. With Dez Bryant having the size to deal with Seattle's corners, and Jason Witten a good tight end to work the seams, but still with the road to the Super Bowl running through the CLink. There's no way you can pick against the Seahawks defense, and Russell Wilson's heart.
