Rams turn Seattle over five times to stun the Seahawks 23-20
St. Louis - The Seahawks quest to get back to the Super Bowl hit an early speed bump Sunday Afternoon. Russell Wilson proved that even he isn't immune to a bad game, as he had a dreadful four interception performance, missing throws throughout the afternoon that the Rams capitalized on. Even with all of the turnovers the Seahawks had the ball late with a chance to tie or take the lead, but T.J. McDonald picked off Wilson in the endzone to seal the upset for the home team. For the second week in a row the Seahawks let their opponnet bust off a big run that changed the game, as LaRod Stephens-Howling was able to find the end zone in the 3rd quarter, after busting off a big run in the first half to set up the Rams first score. Also of worry is an injury that was suffered by safety Kam Chancellor in the 4th Quarter. He went down clutching his shoulder after making a tackle, and has an MRI set up for Monday morning. Perhaps the one lone bright spot for the Seahawks was WR Kenny Bell, who continues to impress every time the ball comes to him. He led the Hawks with 63 yards on 3 catches on the day. The Seahawks will now need to re-group quickly, injuries or not as they head back home to face the Arizona Cardinals in another division match-up.

Players to Watch:
Offense:

Jared Cook - TE: The Rams Tight-End is coming into his own in now his 6th season. He is emerging as Sam Bradford's most reliable target, and his safety blanket when things break down in the pocket.
Defense:

Cortland Finnegan - CB: For the second week in a row the Hawks will face a corner who will look to shut down half the field for Seattle, and contain their passing attack.
Prediction: The Rams are definitely a young, up and coming team, but they dont have the horses to hang with the Seahawks yet. They may keep it close for a half or 3 quarters, but Seattle should pull away at the end.

Wilson wins POTW honors

Russell Wilson's 3 touchdowns were good enough for the reigning MVP to win the NFC Offensive Player of the Week award. Looks like Russell is going to try and march his way right along to a second straight MVP trophy this season.
Hawks lose Hatcher

The Seahawks signed Jason Hatcher this offseason hoping to shore up their defensive interior, but those plans will be put on hold now as the Defensive Tackle suffered a broken collarbone on Sunday. Second year player Jordan Hill, who had an outstanding pre-season will move into the starting line-up for the Seahawks.

Seattle - The Seattle Seahawks got off to a positive start to their 2014 campaign with a convincing 41-20 victory over the Cleveland Browns on Sunday at CenturyLink Field. The game was never close after the first quarter when the Browns cut it to 14-10 on Travis Benjamin's electric 82 yard punt return, but that was as close as the Browns would get as the Seahawks methodically pounded them like they did to so many other teams last season. Marshawn Lynch racked up 161 yards, and a score, and the Seahawks made few mistakes in this one for the Browns to capitalize on. Russell Wilson was efficient in his 24 attempts completing 15 of them, 2 for scores. The Hawks will now head out on their first road trip of the season to take on the St. Louis Rams at the Edward Jones Dome next Sunday.

Player of the Game:

Russell Wilson - QB: Wilson accounted for three touchdowns on Sunday, two throwing, and onw on the ground en-route to racking up 215 yards passing, and 61 rushing on the day for Seattle.

The Seattle Seahawks kickoff the 2014 season by welcoming the Cleveland Browns to CenturyLink Field. The Browns are rolling out a new Starting quarterback for the opener in Jason Campbell, and are coming off a good run to end 2013. The scrappy Browns may suprise some teams in 2014 so the Seahawks will need to be on their toes in this one.

Players to Watch:
Offense:

Hakeem Nicks - WR: The prize of the Browns off-season. Cleveland hopes that Nicks can finally be the big time WR they've been lacking. With big play threat Josh Gordon on the other side, Nicks should be able to put up similar numbers as his New York Giants days playing opposite Victor Cruz.
Defense:

Joe Haden - CB: Haden has become one of the top cornerbacks in the game today. On the same level as the Sherman's and Revis' of the world. The Seahawks more than likely will have one half of the field shut off to them on Sunday.
Prediction: As we said at the top, this Browns team is going to surprise some people this year. They have a very under the radar defense that is one of the best in the league, and the addition of Nicks should open up their passing game. However I'm not sure that Jason Campbell is the man to exploit that opening, and against a top defense like the Hawks, I can't see him putting his team over the top.

Seahawks look to finish what they started
The Seattle Seahawks 2013 season seemed magical at times. They finished the year with a franchise best 15-1 record, and home field throughout the NFC playoffs which carried them all the way to their second Super Bowl in franchise history, but just like the first time they made it to the big game. The Seahawks left heart-broken as their season came to a disappointing end at the hands of Hall of Famer Tom Brady, and the New England Patriots. Now the Seahawks look to atone for that loss, and finish the job they started last year, by finally capturing the teams' first Super Bowl Championship. Here's the cast of characters who will be looking to get the job done in 2014, and how they will fill out the Seahawks depth chart.

Prediction: It's going to be pretty tough for the Seahawks to duplicate last season's success. The NFC got better this offseason, and the competion for the Hawks got a whole lot stiffer. If the Seahawks can't secure home-field, it will probably end up being another season of heart break in Seattle.

Seattle - The Seahawks concluded their 3rd perfect pre-season in a row with a 24-17 win over the Miami Dolphins on Saturday night. It was the same old stars that have made wave this pre-season who proved to be the difference in this one. Kenny Bell again was able to get great seperation as he racked up 68 more yards on 3 catches, and Jordan Hill again was wreaking havoc when it mattered most, as he came up with a strip-sack on Matt Moore on the game's final drive as the Dolphins were seemingly going in for the game tying touchdown. Those two players have locked up roster spots on this team, and now others will have to sweat out tomorrow's cut down day as rosters must be trimmed to 53 men.

Orchard Park - The Seattle Seahawks put together another solid performance this pre-season. Commiting few mistakes en-route to a 27-16 win on Saturday Night. The starters played the entire first half in this one, and while the offense looked lethargic at times, it was mistake free, and the Seahawks defense was up to the task of getting the job done. One bright spot for the Hawks was HB Branden Oliver, a 7th round pick, and fighting for a spot on the roster broke off 2 big runs, one for a TD and showed impressive speed that could be a good change of pace to the ground and pound style of Seattle's other main backs. After lighting it up in the first two pre-season games, rookie WR Kenny Bell was relatively quiet in this one cathcing just one pass for eight yards. The Seahawks will now head back home for their final tune-up, and a chance for guys on the bubble to make one last impression befor rosters are cut to 53-men next Sunday at 1 p.m. PST.

Charlotte - The Seattle Seahawks had some more positives to take away from their pre-season game against the Panthers on Thursday Night. Maybe the biggest one being that late first-round pick Kenny Bell is looking like a bonafide stud so far, and is flashing some serious talent in the Seahawks receiving corps. He hauled in 2 touchdowns in this game, and also caught a huge pass on the game winning drive. Speaking of that drive, back-up quarterback B.J. Daniels showed a lot of poise late in this one driving the Seahawks down in a 2 minute drill to set up the game winning field goal. The depth that Seahawks have shown so far this pre-season will go a long way into helping them make a push to get back to the super bowl, and hopefully winning it this time around. Now with all the praise the young backups have been getting they'll take a seat and watch more of the starters in the 3rd pre-season game, which is traditionally a dress rehearsal for teams as they get ready for the upcoming season. That affair will take place next Saturday night at Ralph Wilson Stadium, as the Seahawks will take on the Buffalo Bills.

Seattle - The Seattle Seahawks opened their 2014 campaign by exacting the smallest measure of revenge on the end of their 2013 season by beating the New England Patriots 39-21 Friday night at CenturyLink Field. Of course the Tom Brady era is over in New England, and the Seahawks and Patriots starters didn't play past the first quarter, but none the less there were some positives to take away. Rookie first round pick Kenny Bell looked good in his time in the 2nd half going up and making some tough catches, and undrafted free-agent linebacker Chase Vasser continues to impress upon what he's done in training camp by hauling in an interception in the 2nd half. The Seahawks will now hit the road for another preseason tilt Thursday where some more young players will look to impress before the week 3 dress rehearsal.
