Philadelphia - The Heat looked sluggish through 3 quarters coming off of a physical game the night before against the Chicago Bulls. The young players on the Sixers were able to hang tough with the Heat, and were causing all kinds of problems for LeBron James, who had just 4 points in the first half, but in the 4th the Heat finally hit the accelerator, and charged away for an 87-80 victory at the Wells Fargo Center. LeBron ended up leading the Heat with 25, while Jason Richardson led all scorers with 26 points.

Miami - LeBron James led the way for the Miami Heat, but in the end it was Dwyane Wade that lifted the Heat to victory over the Bulls on opening night. James had 30 points in the game to pace all starters, but he was double teamed on the games final possession. That's when he flung a cross court pass to a wide open Wade who was able to knock down the open three with just 4.8 left on the clock. The Bulls final shot by Derrick Rose came up short, and the Heat were celebrating a season opening win.

Seattle - The Baltimore Ravens defense was up to the task on Monday night. As they forced 3 Seattle turnovers, and kept the Seahawks out of the end zone long enough for a 22-17 win. The Seahawks first loss at CenturyLink Field since December of 2011. Russell Wilson finally gained some traction in the passing game, as it seemed the playbook got opened for this one, and he was able to hit his tight end Zach Miller on seven different throws, but again it was a mis-communication with rookie Kenny Bell that led to Wilson's one mistake on the night. The Ravens on the other had dealt the Seahawks some of their own medicine. Pounding the ball with Ray Rice, and throwing occasionally while controlling the clock. It's the fact that Seattle got beaten at their own game that might stick with the Seahawks throughout this bye week as they prepare for a rematch with the St. Louis Rams, who handed Seattle their other loss back in Week 2.

Player of the Game:

Ray Rice - HB: Rice was the workhorse for the Ravens on Monday night. Although he couldn't find the end zone, he did get off to the tune of 133 yards against the Seahawks normally solid rush defense.

The Seattle Seahawks return home after a tough battle against the Pittsburgh to take on the undefeated Baltimore Ravens on Monday Night Football. This is definitely a possible Super Bowl preview, and really the Seahawks first measuring stick game of the season.

Players to Watch:
Offense:

Ray Rice - HB: In his seventh season, Ray Rice has established himself as one of the premier backs in the league. Always near the top of the rushing leaders, Rice is also a major threat out of the back field as well, and will be a match-up nightmare for Seattle on Monday Night.
Defense:

Haloti Ngata - DT: Ngata is a major force in the Middle for Baltimore. He swallows up offensive lineman leaving room for Baltimore's linebackers to make plays on defense.
Prediction: This is the toughest test of the season for Seattle so far. They seem to have righted the ship after the slip-up in St. Louis, and luckily get this big time game at home where they are nearly impossible to beat. That slight edge should prove the difference in this game.

Seahawks bring back Baldwin

After the injury suffered by Percy Harvin on Sunday, the Seahawks were lacking some serious depth in their receiving corps. So they opted to bring back Doug Baldwin who failed to latch on with a team this offseason. Baldwin should be able to step right in already knowing this offensive system, and is probably a go to play on Sunday.

Pittsburgh - The Seattle Seahawks finally excersized some demons against the Steelers, as they were able to outlast a very physical battle on a muggy Pittsburgh afternoon to take a 34-27 victory. The muggy weather and physical play had players worn down. Lineman were constantly being recycled in, and cramping injuries were piling up as this game was really a war of attrition where the Seahawks youth may have proved the difference. There were some more serious injuries however for both teams as the Seahawks already anemic passing game lost it's biggest weapon as Percy Harvin went down with a hip injury. The passing game is becoming a big concern for the Seahawks as Russell Wilson is definitely having a rough start to the season, as he tries to get on the same page as his new receivers. Now rookie Kenny Bell who was very impressive in the pre-season and so far this season will be stepping into the starting lineup, and will be asked to take on an even bigger role for the Seahawks.

The Seahawks travel to Heinz Field to face their Super Bowl XL nemesis the Pittsburgh Steelers this Sunday. These are definitely not the Steelers from years past however as age has caught up to Pittsburgh, and has slowed them down the last couple of seasons.

Players to Watch:
Offense:

Ben Roethlisberger - QB: Big Ben has been the one mainstay on the Steelers offense. He has lost an armory of weapons through the years, but still manages to produce at a high level.
Defense:

Troy Polamalu - SS: Much like Big Ben. Polamalu is the mainstay on the defensive side of the ball for Pittsburgh. He's lost some steps over the years, but is still, when healthy, one of the best in the league at his position.
Prediction: After a couple weeks of playing young teams, the Hawks now face a team full of aging veterans. Heinz Field has been a house of horrors for the Seahawks over the years, but these are not your daddy's Steelers. They are sporting a putrid offense the first three weeks, and the Seahawks defense is definitlely not interested in letting them get back on track against them. Seattle should be able to shut them down, and their youth will wear out Pittsburgh in the second half.

It even had fans at CenturyLink Field booing the hometown team at times in the first half, but in the end it proved to be the perfect strategy to employ, as the Seahawks ran the ball 46 times, and wore down the Cardinals defense for a convincing 31-13 win on Sunday. The first half was not pretty to say the least as the Seahawks offense looked absolutely lethargic. Russell Wilson again seemed out of groove, but did not make as many mistakes as he did last week. Save for one red zone interception, and after rookie QB Aaron Murray hit Larry Fitgerald with a big play towards the end of the half. The Seahawks went into the locker room being shut out 10-0, and to a chorus of boos from the hometown faithful, but in the 2nd half the groundwork laid paid off, as the Seahawks took the opening kickoff of the half, and ran the ball right down Arizona's throat for a score. The Seahawks controlled the football for the majority of the half, passing sparingly, and not having to punt one time as by the time the 4th quarter came along, Marshawn Lynch was bowling over the Cardinals tired defense like they were a pee-wee squad, and in the end the crowd at CenturyLink cheered again as their Hawks came out victorious. The Seahawks now hit the road hoping to make this trip a lot more successful than their first as they head to Heinz Field to take on the Pittsburgh Steelers next Sunday.

Player of the Game:

Marshawn Lynch - HB: Lynch probably made a lot of fantasy owners happy people on Sunday as he racked up a gaudy 216 yards and 3 touchdowns to lead the way for the Seahawks.

The Seahawks return home after a disappointing road loss in St. Louis to take on the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday at CenturyLink Field. The Seahawks have dominated the Cardinals as of late, but this is a new team with highly touted rookies leading the way. The Cardinals are coming off of a very impressive win themselves, and their young players would like nothing more than to shock the world on Sunday.

Players to Watch:
Offense:

Aaron Murray - QB: The Cardinals "other" first round pick. Murray has looked sharp in his first two starts as a pro, especially last week where he was able to dismantle a pretty good Cincinnati Defense.
Defense:

Jadeveon Clowney - DE/OLB: The overall #1 pick in last year's draft. Clowney has shown an ability already to get to the QB at this level. The Seahawks will need to be very wary of the pass rusher on Sunday.
Prediction: A week ago I would have thought this game would be closer, but the Seahawks are going to be feeling awfully salty after an embarrassing loss to the Rams last week. Look for them to make a point against a team they've had no problem dismantiling the last few seasons. The Cardinals have a great young core, but this is a huge step up in class for these players. Seattle should handle this fairly convincingly

MRI reveals slight tear for Chancellor

An MRI on the shoulder of safety Kam Chancellor revealed a very slight tear, but doctors told him that it should not require immediate surgery, and it will be on a week to week basis on how the shoulder feels, and if Kam can hold up to the pain. Right now it would be unlikely that he would play Sunday, meaning rookie Craig Loston will receive his first NFL start.
