Las Vegas -- Colorado State (11-2) caps an excellent season with a 24-10 Las Vegas Bowl win over Oregon State (6-7).

Raymond Sarter was named player of the game after rushing for 41 yards and two touchdowns.

The rain caused terrible playing conditions as neither team could do much in the air or on the ground as total offense was Oregon State 195 - CSU 253.

CSU WR Tyson Liggett did set up the rams for their two rushing TDs by being tackled on the 1 yard line and the 2 yard line on seperate occasions. Liggett finished with 5 catches for 58 yards.

QB Pete Thomas put the game out of reach when he connected with TE Ben Tedford for a 2 yard TD. This was Tedfords first reception of the year.

Lombardi Trophy winner Davis Burl came up strong with 3 sacks, giving him a total of 13 on the year. DE James and CB Mitchell also had 1 sack each. CB Momo Thomas had 1 interception and 6 tackles in the game too.

Oregon State did have a few bright spots as Junior HB Jacquizz Rodgers rushed for 90 yards on 13 carries in what could be his last colliegate game. WRs Bishop and Nichols both had 61 yards receiving with Nichols also adding a TD.

Eight different receivers caught the ball for CSU as Thomas spread the ball around to get everyone involved in the final home game of the season.

On defense Davis Burl collected player of the game after putting together a 6 tackle, 4 for a loss and 3 sack performance. However Senior LB Ricky Brewer was the one filled with emotion after the game,"I've watched these guys grow so much over the season, to think of what our record was last year, and now we have a chance to win 10 games. I'm left speechless, coach has done an amazing job keeping everyone happy and getting the entire team to buy in to the strategy every week."

Coach Gill commented after the game,"Lookout for Thomas in a few years, he's grown so much this season that with a strong offseason conditioning program, he could be a candidate for the draft."

The CSU trainer had this to say about the preparation,"There's a few guys who are seeking attention for some twisted ankles or sore backs but overall the health of this team is remarkable."

FORT COLLINS, Colo. -- TCU quarterback Andy Dalton and his offensive mates didn't have one of their better days. The defense however had three touchdowns on the way to a 37 to 24 win for TCU over Colorado State.

TCU swarmed freshman CSU QB Pete Thomas and forced two interceptions for touchdowns and one fumble returned for a TD.

The Horned Frogs (4-1) were making their first trip outside of Texas this season, and struggled early trailing 7-9 at halftime.

The TCU defense came out in the second half with lots of pressure and LB Carter intercepted the ball on the first drive and returned it 13 yds for the TD. Daniels also picked up a fumble and ran 28 yards for a TD in the 3rd.
On offense for TCU Dalton completed 9 of 18 passes for 109 yards with 1 TD and 1 interception. Ed Wesley ran for 45 yards and a 1st quarter touchdown.

For the Rams Thomas was 20 for 39 with 319 yards passing with 2 TDs and 4 INT. Raymond Carter continues to look good on the ground with 21 touches for 114 yards and one TD.

"That's TCU defense," Wesley said. "It's always been like that and will continue to be for the rest of the season."

For the Frogs to stay strong in the polls they need a better offense performance as coming from a non AQ conference in the BCS aany bad performance is multiplied.

When Dalton was asked about his performance after the game he commented, "It's the end result that matters, I'm not in this to when an individual trophy I'm here to hoist a BCS bowl trophy with my teammates." Dalton fell out of the top five in the Heisman race following his poor performance.

Rams coach Drew Gill said,"Our offense looked impressive however, Thomas made a few rookie mistakes tonight, and aggainst a team like TCU, we really can't afford any mistakes."

Total offense was 426-215 in favour of the Rams, however the determining factor in the game is the 5 turnovers by CSU compared to 1 by TCU.

"All I can do is put this game behind me and focus on Air Force next week." Thomas said of his performance.

Freshman QB Pete Thomas continues to grow as he threw for 262 yards on 14-22 passing, with over 200 yards in the first half, before the Rams decided to use the clock and run the ball in the second half.

DE Davis Burl had a strong showing with 1 sack, two tackles for a loss and interception on a tipped ball.

For Idaho, senior QB Nathan Enderle completed 17 of 24 pass attempts for 249 yards. He threw two TD passes and one interception.

Carter talked about his performance,"I glad to be getting more carries close to the goalline. I talked to coach during the week, and expressed my desire to show him what I can do to get into the endzone, and he agreed that he'll give me more opportunities. Thanks Coach, for having faith in me."

Coach Gill said to media following the game,"This was another great game and our offense is starting to come into shape just in time for conference play. Next week we have a big test in front of us with TCU coming to town, hopefully we execute our game plan and don't get embarassed by the Horned Frogs. I know Vegas will be leaning heavily for them with the way Dalton is currently playing but I think the way our defense is playing we can get some pressure on him and force him to make some bad decisions."
