Let's talk about Speed With Ball and how it should be divided up.

IMO slashers should unequivocally be the highest speed with ball players and it shouldn't be a small margin. I think the bigs over 6'10 if pure athletic shoould be in the 70s. Wings 6'8 or lower should be in the 80s-90s.

By no means am i saying that a pure slasher at 5'7 should have 99 ball handling, but strictly the speed with ball. I could see slashers staying where they are with Ball handling, somewhere in the high 70s but their speed with ball should still be in the 90s.

Playmakers should have a high 80 even at 6'3 or smaller. This would mean they can dribble spam but will no longer be the fastest players with the ball.

Shot creators could also be in the high 80, low 90s. This would allow for this class to shine. As someone who predominantly plays shot creators and slashers i feel their ability to take a man off the dribble needs to be exclusively to these 3 classes. No exceptions.

The allotment of SWB needs to be more carefully divided. Make it more strategic when attempting to find your role.

Re: Let's talk about Speed With Ball and how it should be divided up.

Speed needs a giant overhaul in general because everyone on the game is too slow, fast breaks are slow, and myself at my age can still do an down and back sprint faster than I can make any player do one in 2k. It’s pathetic. And the amount of time it takes for a player to pass, catch, on the break is ridiculous. I’m not sure how fast breaks have taken such a massive backseat for 2k over the past few years now.

Speed with ball I don’t think should have drastically different numbers. About 90% of people aren’t THAT much slower with the ball in their hands. So I wouldn’t like to see all bigs be slow by default if they aren’t slow players to begin with.

I think the idea that certain archetype players have different speeds and strengths is stupid

So every point guard in the whole League is faster than every small forward? Every single power forward in the league is stronger than every guard?

No

Limitations like this make creating a true KD/Giannis build impossible. If i want my 7 foot guy to be as fast as a guard i should be able to do it. I’d just sacrifice in another spot

Dude I love ya but it's funny how every thread you make could be boiled down to buff slashers. You should make the official buff slashers thread or blog.

Speed with ball should be an equation of ball handling and speed, they should not have people with 99 speed and 70 speed with the ball unless their handles are like 35, even then they'd be goin faster than that and they'd prolly just run straight out of bounds or kick the ball, falling over helplessly. I could see having to be more careful with turbo and dribble moves as a fast player when you had low handles but even a guy like Shaq can reach high speeds with the ball on the break. It's not that hard to run forward and dribble.

It just doesn't make sense to be fast without the ball but then slow down once I'm on the break. If i get caught on the break by a sharp next year i WILL be breaking a new Tv. Lmfao

The problem is that it is a game and not everything is equal, shooting and speed can be extremely over powering compared to like post hook.

It not only makes sense, but it's realistic. It is a rare skill for a player to be able to drive at full speed.

That said implementing a "speed dribble" as seen in this video would help the fast break issue. The caveat would be that your ball control be significantly worse while using it, but it would help more realistic fast breaks without people having to resort to cherry picking.

IMO, the problem is that so much of the game mechanics seem to now be designed around balancing online play MyPlayers. If the game were still just real NBA players, then every player could just have their attributes and that would be that.

They have to balance for archetypes, inane User playstyles, and exploitation of gameplay mechanics, so a lot of artificial mechanics are built in around these things.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.
