Well, I hadn't played this game since WWE 2K17 came out. I played yesterday, after that long over due patch, and I must say that shot percentages for both teams are very realistic now, mid to low 40's. But man, I am getting called for illegal screens like crazy!

But yeah, overall the game feels more balanced (difficult) for me.

On PS4.

I think they updated the player ratings. Klay Thompson is not on 90's anymore.

Anyone complaining about D look at my post #343. Compare that with this game. You will clearly see that the teams you're using matters, just as much as the team you're playing against. Which I love by the way. In the prior game I was able to play stingy D with OKC, and hold Sacramento to 88 points on 42% shooting. This game I couldn't get a stop for my life. But it felt so real because Houston is terrible on D and the Warriors, well are the Warriors on Offense. With that being said....

Our MyCareer players are barely 80 when you create them with the same attributes outside of MyCareer and you mean to tell me they are getting doubled from opening tip?

2K is getting really stingy with the VC.

Re: NBA 2K17 Patch 1.05 Available Now, Rosters Updated - Full Details Here

There's been definite improvements with the patch. However there are still nagging issues and at this point I'm resigned to the fact that they will not be fixed. Unrealistic on ball defense (though improved) is still the basis for the 2K series, and in my opinion it's not a good look as it doesn't replicate authentic NBA basketball. It almost seems worse now that we can get by defenders a bit easier but as a result said defender clips, slides, morphs, recovers etc much more frequently. It looks really wonky and feels cheap.

The transition game is still quite terrible in all regards. It's like the programmers went out of their way to ensure that users will not in any way shape or form enjoy playing any aspect of transition basketball. Quite literally in all facets it's horribly done. I can't assume they meant anything but to make sure it's nothing like NBA.

Noticing lots of interior passing by the cpu that is not able to be defended, thus they get an inflated field goal percentage because the interior defense is typically way out of position and sometimes, sadly (literally) in the crowd.

Defensively I feel like I am in slow motion and the cpu can have it's way with me at will. I'm not looking to force them to pick up their dribble as I think that isn't realistic. I am looking to not have to carry what feels like a 100 lb weight on each ankle whilst trying to stick with the ballhandler. Offensively is much the same. I feel the cpu mirrors my inputs effortlessly and while there are more times that I can get by them now compared to pre - patch, it's still pretty silly and unrealistic. As I mentioned before even when I beat them I have to deal with them pushing me around like I'm a ragdoll and then having them magically appear in front of me.

I could go on, but I digress. I waited until today to be vocal about the patch as I wanted to see if rosters, sliders and other changes influenced my opinion, and of course I wanted to get a decent number of games in with different teams.

It's better, there's no denying that, but better isn't really achieving too much. The bar was set pretty low. Hopefully there's still more patches. I remain loyal to my opinion that NBA 2K17 isn't a good basketball simulation. It's a decent video game, but I can play lots of decent video games. I want to play basketball...NBA basketball.

I can understand people complaining about bugs and glitches, but i think we need to lower our expectations a bit in terms of ever seeing 100% realistic AI in any game. These guys are working for 2k Sports, not NASA.

Not that there aren't some legitimate gripes out there, but man, some of the complaints in these posts are comical.
