What's up with the stiff, herky-jerky animations? That game looks like something from the PS2 era, and some games on that console had better animations. I know they say it's from a pre-alpha build, but this is not looking good.

going to have to disagree, elite 11 gameplay with the infinity engine or physic engine showed issue just like the lebron one in the nba live 13 footage, look it up on youtube.... its just time to call it what it is.. the engine is there, just isnt implemented as well as its layed out on paper.... stop comparing nba live engine to fifa, madden, or nhl engine that was built on a solid core and has also had more than one yr with the physic system, the problem with live is that is doesnt matter what physic engine they put in it, the foundation or core of the game is broken and not solid fundamental wise, in which is why you see the mess we have seen in that footage and the mess we seen with elite 11, just point blank and simple

Exactly...I couldn't agree more...I'm astonished that they are even allowing this game to come out...

I'm not comparing the engine to fifa, nhl or madden, I'm comparing the processes of incorporating technology. There was a time where they were showcasing madden before the full infinity engine was incorporated. Meaning they were still using the same tackling mechanics from Madden 12. Then a later build came out with the infinity engine incorporated, instead of the old Madden 12 tackling engine.

All I'm saying is "Maybe" the reason why the game looks so bad; no offball movement moves, and the cpu plays so dumb is because this build doesn't have the different technologies incorporated into it fully. (Offball animations "move with a purpose", spectacular A.I (synergy), and Playmaker engine (the animation engine they are boasting)).

I know those are buzzwords but I'm just using them for names sake. Ea says its pre-alpha, so i assume that means everything that is supposed to be in the game is not in this build.

Live 10 still looks like their best basketball game they put out so far, seems like it may stay that way for a good while too.
