The rounds do go by fast, but I like the punch out put better for the cpu. This also helps them maintain stamina for the whole fight. It's not all peaches and cream, because like JayBee 74 mentioned below, now both fighters lose very little stamina. I will live with that though, because I like the matches I get now with decisions, 1 pko's, and Tko's. Also, not as important, but you can definitely get more matches in during the day as well.

For convenience's sake I took the Pavlik-Hagler model, returning Hagler to his default settings. I set it for 12 rounds. Using Pavlik I won the last 6 rounds for a 116-112 victory on all cards.

I upped boxer Power from 7 to 8, but because of the shorter rounds and virtually unlimited stamina, that Power setting wasn't enough. Both fighters were hurt by hard counters, but their "consciousness level" remained safe throughout the fight.

Long term stamina is not a factor, but at least it's not an advantage for the human. At the start of the 12th both fighters were at 100%. In a previous fight I used Hagler against Pavlik in a 15 rounder losing a split decision. At the end of 14 Hagler was at 100%, Pavlik 96%.

Another problem is the "Body Snatcher/Head Hunter" slider. It really doesn't work. Hagler throws about 50/50 to the body and head no matter what you set it to.
You are right about the long term stamina, and I will try a few matches with it set at a lower stamina setting

In some matchups, such as when I was Wlad and fought Lewis, stamina was not a problem, as the CPU only threw about 20-30 punches a round.

But for the most part, it did become an issue. For example, I did a lot of fights as Lewis against Tyson. I knew that as as soon as the fight got into the second half, he would get exhausted and I could win by KO, giving a hollow victory.

Furthermore, when I was Foreman against Tyson, as I stood my ground and pushed him off, they CPU output rose even higher (70 in first few rounds), so Tyson was completely gone by the 4th, allowing me to win.

So I will try the 1 minute rounds with the stamina slider all the way down, so hopefully there will be some drain. Either way, it should be a lot better knowing that you won't simply win because the CPU has punched itself out.

It's so easy to beat these body shot bums. I just beat a guy who was 28-1, the other night I beat a guy who was 38-2. This is on heavyweight OWC, btw.

I just let them wear themselves out throwing body punches, meanwhile I land one-two's and throw in an occasional uppercut while I stand there blocking their body shots. I win nearly every round on these idiots.

Rashan Jones Announces Retirement!

At approximately 12:01am tonight I will retire from Fight Night Boxing. My career has been one roller coaster of a ride with all of the rule changes and different styles. My career started off smooth and then in the middle I struggled...but I am ending strong. I know my career record in the Lightweight Division of 65-58 42ko's may seem modest to some. I take pride in the fact that through it all I maintained my integrity and refused to succumb to the temptation of adapting to a style that I don't consider boxing. I feel now is the time to bow out gracefully and seek other avenues. I have been contacted by college and pro football organizations for coaching vacancies. I will accept those jobs...college being the first effective at 12:02am eastern time at the University of North Carolina. Thank You and God bless!

I was just wondering, what do you have the CPU Punch Output slider set to with these 1 minute rounds?

Re: Fight Night Champion Title Update #2 Available Now, Post Impressions Here (PS3, 3

Finally got to spend some time with the new patch. Some thoughts:

The offline portion of the game is messed up bad since the patch. AI doesn't know stamina drops more and there gassed by the 6th or 7th making for an easy KO. Need to tweak the settings manually to see if it helps.

The online portion of the game is great imo. Its now really hard to be a cheeser...at least on the 7 or so games i've played since the patch. Hopefully they keep it like this or dont change much because I think its great.

The scoring online is stupid. Before the patch I never had an online match go all the way so I cant say if the scoring was off then. I just had a match where I was Lennox Lewis and he was Evander Holyfield. We both played pretty realistic which was awesome because just about everyone I play spams everything. Anyway, while I was competitive, he was simply better then me. He would get in get his punches off and back out. We threw pretty much the same number of punches but he outlanded me by over 100 punches. I managed to stun him in the final seconds of the last round but there wasen't much time left and my stamina was shot so I couldn't take advantage.I thought I had won about three rounds but to me it was pretty clear he should've won. The scores read:

Judge 1: 96-94
Judge 2: 95-95
Judge 3: 98-92

Judges 1 and 3 scored for me so I won even though I shouldn't have(just like real life boxing!) I sent him a message telling him gg and that I probably shouldnt have won.

Re: Fight Night Champion Title Update #2 Available Now, Post Impressions Here (PS3, 3

I picked this up again after hearing the next update dropped.

I tend to play as an outside fighter and noticed no significant stamina drop from the stick and move. Of course, I did notice it if continuously moving back or simply flailing away, but not on the stick and move.

Online, you have to fight realistically. Continual spamming will pretty much guarantee a loss because it just saps stamina. I'm sure the cheesers hate it.

Last night, I played two matches where I could tell both fighters were playing they way they used to pre-patch. I won both.
