the only time they had a draft thing was in Head Coach

See, I don't have a problem with people saying this. Innovation is a lot different than "bringing back a feature". It is true that implementing a feature that was on last gen games is not innovative, but other than the initial design process, it takes just as much effort to develop an old idea as it does a new one. My logic is that if it was a good idea last gen, then I have no problem with them putting it in this game. To be honest, if you had asked me after M11 what feature from a past gen game I would want in this game it would have been player roles. I am sure others feel differently, but I liked the feature.

I love the fact madden comes out Aug 30th. For me itll signify the end of summer along with Labor Day. Now we dont have to wait that long to have the proper rosters to start our franchises with. Man its been a while since I really played offline franchise like that only because there wasnt anything drawing me to come back game after game. The reintroduction of player roles will bring back that PS2 madden franchise feel i really missed. That unpredicability has been missing but from the looks of things it looks to be back on track.

I liked the potential rating however i think with the roles you dont really need the actual rating anymore. I know Gms in my franchise would just go after A and B rated players which undermined the entire franchise with one team having 16 A rated players with 90+ ratings lol. I could see with the Player Roles certain potentials fitting into those roles, That way we dont need to see the actual rating at all.

I like where this is going. Looks like ill have a lotta reading to do in the office tommorow lol

I understand the whole innovation thing but honestly lets just have a franchise that works, is functional and keeps us as fans coming back week after week. Sometimes when they try to get cute with features and all that the foundation gets neglected you know? So i have no issue with the "going back to basics" kinda thing. It was when they had player roles and Owner Mode when franchise had that RPG feel to it almost that made me come back game after game.

I know this is a long shot, but do you think they will talk about weather in franchise in the blog? Like last year when it always rained or snowed in the same game every year no matter what. Hopefully this year there is some variation to the weather.
