Exactly, they lost nobody of consequence except the two people that gave major contributions to them winning the Series.

So without Uribe and Renteria, you think the Giants will make the playoffs this year?
I'm just saying, they barely snuck in last year. Do Uribe and Renteria make that big of a difference throughout the year? Probably not.

Really, you can't be mad at a game for ranking the World Series champs high on the list.
But if I was a Giants fan, I'd be a little frustrated that the Yankees and Red Sox were ranked higher.

Just curious. Do follow anything outside of Philly baseball? Because that statement is very naive.

Again, the rankings are not based on what teams did last year. They are based on the calculation of ratings of each player on every position on each team.

There is not such rating or attributes as "magic" or "ora".

count on what they did on the Regular Season... Last 3 years.

I get how they rate teams, thanks, but what attribute puts the Giants at a realistic 3rd ranking?
They have a great rotation and bullpen, but team speed, defense, and offense are average at best.
And taking the last three years into consideration, you would think the Giants would fall a lot lower.
So maybe winning the World Series has something to do with them being 3rd?
And with that reasoning, why not just rank them 1st?

Re: MLB 11 The Show - Overall Team Rankings

The Twins moved back what, 5 spots from last year? The only players the Twins lost is JJ Hardy (who is average at best and didn't have a good ranking in last years game anyway) and they also lost two bullpen pitchers who have been steadily going downhill the past few years. We have a two closers, one who is decent and the other one of the best in the game today. We have Morneau back from injury and before his injury he was doing amazing. We also gained a good infielder in Nishioka from Japan. Other than that, we didn't lose anyone and we finished the AL Central 6 games ahead of Detroit. Wow, talk about getting the shaft.
