When did Perkins become a good player? Is it a tall guy that can block thing?

When his team made it to the championship and all bball fan eyes were on him... that's how it works. With that said, yes, tall guys (tall for NBA) that have proven worthy of starting are generally paid pretty well. I don't see much wrong with what he got (other than he still hasn't played for them as far as I know... how hurt is he?) and also don't see much wrong with Boston moving him.

Tall, big, can play defense and rebound the ball on the biggest stage. Not much else to it.

IMO you cant blame Aigne on this, they got something back for him while it was pretty sure that he would have left.
But in the case for a ring. Now if Doc loses to the Lakers again. He could always fall back on "They didn't beat our 5" comment lol jk

Adding to the 50 million reasons that comment was stupid, it may have given Perkins the confidence to threaten free agency (since Doc made him seem so important).

I somewhat agree with you, my outrage initially was due mostly to how well he fit in with Boston's personnel and scheme. He and KG were just stout.

It will be very interesting to see how he does with this OKC unit as opposed to Boston's.

However like Matrix said, he can defend the post on a big stage.

He's simply a load defensively one on one or even coming out on the perimeter to play PnR's.

A good debate would be a direct comparison between Perkins and say Anderson Varejao.

That is a good comparison... but I don't think we can really make it yet since neither has had much time outside of their "role" in a system that made each possibly look better than they really are.

How many games has Varejao played this year?

Perkins destroys Varejao, in my opinion.
