A good set of sliders isnt good becaue you win 12 games in a row a good set is one that makes you lose when you have bad games! if your down to your 3rd sting qb you shouldnt be putting up 35 a game even with arkansas i lost mallett for 2 games against Texas A&M an Alabama i had a total of 431 yards combined for those 2 games an while he was there that was my average per game an my back up is an 83 overall a huge decline only scored 17 total an was averaging 29 so you need to make the D alot hard an the O for the computer alot more!!! Just my thoughts! I tweeked my sliders to get it harder still score points just give up alot. Arkansas D is TERRIBLE!!!!!!!!! Good Luck!!

On the contrary I am not trying to say these sliders are bad or anything. I told people and Matt at the beginning of the year that I was going to play the whole year straight with his sliders without tweaking anything. To give his sliders a full season to see how they play. I know my skill level and when it comes to football I do know a lot about how it is played. With the new blocking this year I think that is why I am doing so well cause the schemes are basically sort of right (its not perfect and I know it never will). I told Matt and he knows from earlier post that I wasn't looking for him to change the whole sliders just for me or that they are easy.

Also I played my second year in the game with these sliders. Yes I know that Cincinnati will never win the National Championship the first two years (yes I did I will admit it). I did have some challenges with these sliders, but like I said before I was going to post my record and tell him what I though of the sliders. Since I can't get recruits with Cincinnati (7 this year) and had a class of 99th this year and 110th last year these sliders will be hard this year and probably for the next four years if I can't figure out a way to bring people in.

Anyways I wasn't telling him what to change, but what my thoughts were on his sliders. He knows I am not bragging or saying that his hard work was for nothing, was just giving him my thoughts on his sliders. He can change it if he wants, for better or worse, but don't assume that I am hear to bash his sliders.

I understand! Alot of people out ther base a good set of slider on the fact that they play with Duke an go 11-0 an beat Alabama! Good games are one thing doing something that wont be done in real life is another. That what would make a good set of sim sliders! Alot of people out there dont understand that. I would say for my skill set these are really good for me 8-4 with Arkansas is just about right! alot of offense an ZERO D!!!! So not meaning to crack on you just need to make adjustments because you have to be lot better on the sticks than i am! So good luck

Re: Matt10's Heisman Sliders (PS3)

I agree. I am going for a slider set that makes the game as realistic as possible, which I'm a believer that these sliders do it for me. Just played my third game with these sliders and the changes Matt10 gave me and I had a great game. I was VT and beat Pitt 41-29, but it was even closer than that. I was up 20-14 @ the half( I was a PAT) & was up 34-29 in the 4h as they were trying to win i, but INT a pass & returned it for 6. Very even game, but VT on and they ARE the better team. My QB was 15-32 for 286 yards 1 TD 2 INT & sacked twice. Pitts QB was 20-34 for 379 yards, 2 TD 1 INT & sacked twice. VT running back rushed 25 times for 76 yards & 3 TD! Pits RB rushed 19 times for 58 yards & 1 TD. Still searching for my team to use in my dynasty, but don't plan on starting that until sometime in august.

Re: Matt10's Heisman Sliders (PS3)

I am getting very realistic stats in my games as well. Even though I was perfect which usually doesn't happen (first time in like 10 years in NCAA where i went perfect) most of my games have been close except for the shutouts. ND, Bama, and Rutgers were to the final whistle.

I remember last year I went 11-2 (lost a league game to WVU and then bowl game to Florida) with Cincinnati and everyone complained it wasn't realistic especially when I threw it 85 percent of the time and won 11 games and Pike was runner up to the Heisman. Yet in real life last year they were perfect in the season and lost to Florida in a bowl. Pike was talked about for Heisman before getting injured and they threw it around 90 percent of the time (before Pike got injured).

I don't understand I play like the real life team (although I actually don't run no huddle in the game) and people complain that I am not playing a realistic game. I didn't have any one in the Heisman either year (although Pead lead the NCAA in rushing but that was playing on SN AA sliders). Sure I went undefeated, about 90 percent of the games were close. Just got lucky with fumbles in key times and came through on offense when I needed it.

I don't understand what everyone deal is. I play the game more realistically to the real team than probably anyone does in the video game and you want me to make the sliders harder. I rather not go undefeated, but I sure am not going to just let the computer win a game or two just so that can happen. Like I said before these sliders I feel, even on Heisman, that the computer really never cheated to come back in the game or to score. All the points I gave up (being down 14-0 in two straight games) were cause of calling bad defensive plays or miss tackles on my part.

I would like to make it a little harder on defense, but I am afraid if I do that then the computer will be godly on certain drives and then it won't be fun or realistic. Matt said on 6 minutes doesn't give the computer a goove to get in on offense. Still for how I play its either a quick drive (Hey just like the real UC team) or a quick punt. Never once have I had more time than the computer.

As of the new year I did make some changes for myself (throwing acc is now down to 30, with a couple of other things). I will say that these are the best sliders I have played with in NCAA in a long time. If I go undefeated this year then well I will drop everything for human 20 points in each direction since my team is only a C+ (again the no recruits for 2 years).

Re: Matt10's Heisman Sliders (PS3)

With cpu pass rush and coverage at 30 is it too easy to pass? My problem with Heisman so far is I can usually pass really well early in games and once I get a lead the cpu seems to think any pass is an attempt to run up the score and you get punished for it.

I'll start out hitting 70% of my passes on default Heisman. Then I'll get a lead and mostly run the ball. The cpu will commit everyone to run support and I'll have receivers in one on one situations with inferior DBs and all the sudden they can't get open. Or my QB becomes wildly inaccurate. If I have one step on a defender, the ball will hang up just long enough for the cpu to swat it. If I throw the pass the exact same way when I have the cpu beat by two or more steps it will often be overthrown by 10 yards even if that means the ball will have traveled 80 yards.

If there were custom sliders like Madden I'd probably have Hum and cpu run games on Heisman. Cpu pass on Heisman and Hum pass on All-american. I love the fact the cpu can move the ball on you on Heisman.

These sliders are perfect...played another game as Central Michigan & lost to BC 34-21. They were the better team, so it was tough. Down 14-7 @ the half and my Qb got injured in the 3rd.

Re: Matt10's Heisman Sliders (PS3)

Who's ready for a super dorky post? okay...
(also I haven't read the whole thread so sorry if this is redundant)

so I wanted to break these numbers down a little to see exactly what type of advantage i would be getting with these sliders. After doing so I thought I'd share the results just in case anyone was interested.

These numbers EXCLUDE KICKING SLIDERS.

total advantage: 95.

More specifically, on offense you have a passing advantage of 40 and a running advantage of 20.

I calculated this by using this formula: [user(qba+pbl+wr cat) - cpu(pass cvr+passrush+interceptions)] for passing and [user(rba+rbl) - cpu(rush d+tack)] for rushing.

Using the same formula the computer has a -20 pass ad and a -15 rush ad. So a total advantage of 40, 20, 20, and 15 gives you the 95. Of course tackling doesn't just affect running so it isn't perfect but hopefully this will give a little extra perspective.

I like this formula, frank - it builds a good perspective and is as analytical as I'd be willing to go

However, there is one dilemma - and that is the fact that this level we play on is Heisman. Knowing EA, the ratings of each player is increased by a certain set margin - after all, if this weren't the case, then there would be no point in even having different levels (i.e. NFL2k5 has custom sliders, without labeling a set "level" when activated).

So, while the formula helps - it's only speculation as to what EA do when they increase the set levels, and by what margins. I honestly believe once EA establish the understanding that "modes" are not necessary - just give us sliders, it will be easier to calculate.

Central Michigan is a fun team to play with, hope you find your team. I'm rolling with Virginia - definitely an interesting feel than any other team I've used, although I'm stubbornly implementing a West Coast offense.

Passing is not as easy as it looks. I'd say there are chances where you can throw up a lob and have it caught - but with user catch where it's at, those hits from the CPU determine the completion, especially if the scenario is an unlikely catch (i.e over the head, behind the player, etc.)

One thing I like is we can add touch, and spread a bit of lead passing - it's fairly sensitive, but does a good job in relating to who you are using. Also, in regards to the AI passing, I love that they go deep now - in past versions you would hardly ever see that.

Cincy, I'm interested to see how your next season goes man, undefeated is awesome - and you don't have to justify it because the games were challenging. Knowing you, you wouldn't settle for less - I give you credit for sticking to the sliders in the first place, all the way for an entire season.
