Re: NBA 2K14 Wishlist Thread

which brings me back to my point on why I'm so furious that Tony Parker's floater got screwed over. why do you think you should 52 percent as a point guard? do you have to play up on him from at least 17 feet out nowadays because his mid range has improved leaps and bounds his teardrop will make anything from 10 feet and in and if you press up on any of those he'll just drive right past you and make a circus layup. he's one of the true under-appreciated players of our era and 2k did him no justice ruining his floater. Rant over

Floaters are based on timing and "Close" rating, and shot feedback is a terrible thing to rely on. Getting a "good release" doesn't guarantee a make by any means.

The fact that you don't use one team consistently is probably the reason you haven't mastered Parker's floater or Dirk's fadeaway.

Because 2K's pre-set sliders suck balls.

Exactly. Which is why auto-contests are a good thing. It's not a big deal. You can't rely on it to shut down talented users with talented shooters.

Look man I just got off from playing in practice mode with alot of the highest layup rated people in the game and what you're saying about the floaters is so wrong. I purposely held down the shoot button on cp3's floaters and he made 11 in a row did the same things for Tony Parker and he missed five in a row. if floaters were based on timing it would show up on the shot feedback chart. but it doesn't because its not based on timing that's a bunch of hogwash. some players have better animations than others and 2k needs to fix that. CP 3 Rondo Lillard and Curry all have amazing floaters...derrick rose deron williams tony parker have horrible floaters. I've tested all of them myself with different releases and nothing changed as far as percentage of makes and misses. What's the key factor in all of this? The animation. Chris Paul's animation is the most accurate but can get blocked if faced against a very active super hyper defender who has crazy anticipation or just by your classic button masher. Rondo curry and Lillard have the same animation which is the best 1 cuz its very fast its has a very high arc and it goes in at a high rate. I don't want to go back and forth with you but you're dead wrong when you say floaters are about timing you might have a point with dirk then again u mess with sliders so I don't think we're on the same page about dirk.

We can play an online gm together on hof and if you make 5 UNCONTESTED floaters with him in a row on default sliders i'll gladly give you 1600 microsoft points. That's how confident I am about the floaters in 2k13.

Re: NBA 2K14 Wishlist Thread

Floaters ARE based on timing. Not everyone has the same floater, so of course the timing for CP3's won't be the same as Parker's. And the "Layup" rating doesn't affect floaters-- it's "Close" and maybe "Shoot In Traffic" and "Shoot Off Dribble."

How many chances do I get?

What are you talking about how many chances? We play online hof normal slider you clear one side of the floor by running an isolation play and I'll gladly get out of the way. I'll even turn off my defensive rotation so that ur wide wide open. You'll be lucky to even get to 3 in a row let alone 5.

I would hate for them to go backwards to arcady, twitchy gameplay that disregards momentum and physical interactions. I don't mind certain things being tweaked but I do not want instantaneous control in situations where it's unrealistic in real life, and I don't find the necessary delays to prevent me from having control and playing realistic basketball.

The only time the delay/animation system is screwed up is when the CPU ignores delays and becomes twitchy and mind reads your button presses when it's on a run.
agree. i think 2k13 does a pretty good job of balancing realism with responsiveness. some animations can be a bit slow, but for the most part i think 2k13's movement is as responsive as can be without sacrificing realism.

If I'd be lucky to get 3, why do you want 5?
