Remove the UP and UNDER from a double button tap. Horrible idea

If you watch an NBA game, defenders usually jump at the exact same time as the shooter. There's no way you can pull that off consistently online, unless the person you're playing is horribly predictable. At least as far as I've seen.
One of the biggest problems is the delay in the player movement animations. The moving, jumping, etc needs to be much quicker and more responsive without the feeling like your being held back at times or getting stuck in an animation. The animations need to happen instantaneous like they used to for instance in 2k11. The bumping animations in the paint has made it even worse this year adding even more delay or not allowing you too jump at all sometimes.

The game has gotten very animation heavy in the player movements it seems like, thats what really needs to be addressed. I would rather the devs work on fixing the source of the problem then adding band-aids to the game such as auto-shot contest like they did this year, then your simply watching a basketball game play for you instead of being in full control and making decisions for yourself.

Re: NBA 2K14 Wishlist Thread

they seriously need to fix floaters and teardrops because certain ones in 2k13 are super consistent and other ones like Tony Parker's who is a master of the floater is just terrible. I shoot 30 percent on floaters in practice mode by myself its just atrocious and inexcusable how you can have such a good player who is well known for being one of the best ever at that move be so bad at it inthe game. I tried seeing if it was a timing thing but after further review I found out it was on animation thing and that others like Rondo and curry who have the same animation have money floaters and others players have terrible ones like Parker. it's really frustrating to when you have the smaller players who can't dunk but are good scorers because they're crafty and use teardrops as part of their arsenal aren't able to be as effective as they should be because they might cursed by having an animation that is not as successful. this is a serious issue for me and it really needs to be fixed. D Rose is another player who has become a beast at teardrops and has gamewinners to show for it yet here's another one who is very inconsistent even when open. I know they're not going to patch 2k13 anymore but I just hope that this doesn't happen in 2K14 as well.

There's really no way to have both instantaneous response and realistic physics, momentum, and collision reactions. Playing real basketball, you're prevented from doing exactly what you want to do when you want to all the time.

I would hate for them to go backwards to arcady, twitchy gameplay that disregards momentum and physical interactions. I don't mind certain things being tweaked but I do not want instantaneous control in situations where it's unrealistic in real life, and I don't find the necessary delays to prevent me from having control and playing realistic basketball.

The only time the delay/animation system is screwed up is when the CPU ignores delays and becomes twitchy and mind reads your button presses when it's on a run.

How do you know you're not simply mistiming the releases? I dominated a fantasy draft league with Dirk and posted him up very often. Hall-of-Fame difficulty, pretty much every shooting slider lowered.

You sound like you want the game to make Dirk's one-legged fadeaway for you.
Bro I'm no 2k rookie. I know dirks release and I play with the shot feedback at all times. His one legged fade is as inconsistent as tony parkers floater. I know what works and what doesn't and I've played gm after gm where his shot is just disappointing. I like to think I'm pretty good at shot releases I'm about 89 percent from the free throw line and 47 percent from 3 in about a hundred games or so online and I play with every team I don't favor any team I play with everyone mostly scrub teams. my shot release is not the problem at all it's the consistency at which he makes his money shot which bothers me. sometimes I don't know what's harder taking a contested 3 with iggy or taking an open fade away with dirk. and besides that other times when I post up a smaller guy that has no business down there with me my shot percentage should increase dramatically instead of staying the same and I'm not talking about drives to the hoop either I'm talking about back to the basket shots like fade aways hooks etc...2k sports needs to do a better job of refining certain player patented moves. And differentiate the money moves from a regular ones.

Re: NBA 2K14 Wishlist Thread

Layups are a huge issue why is it that unless you're a superstar with finisher or a great three point shooter you really can't score with smaller players unless they are wide wide open. As small as a player like JJ Barea is he scores in the paint at times with floaters and what not but you can't expect him to make that in 2k13 because he simply is not blessed with the good floater animation like curry or rondo. should he have the Acrobat signature skill? No if course not. I'm happy they eliminated that sig skill too. I used to love changing my shot in mid air back in 2k6 and slashing into the paint in 2k8. being able to change your shot in mid air and the frequency at which you make it along with contact layups should be all determined by layup rating and shot in traffic. if anything runners floaters and teardrop should all have their own specific attribute rating to separate the athletic dominant layup in traffic scorers. from the not so athletic yet crafty the scorers like the jj barrea' and jose calderon's of the world.

Re: NBA 2K14 Wishlist Thread

Those are the headdy players that fake the 3 and toss up the tear drop as far bacj as the freethrow line over the outstretched arms of the rotating big. certain players are gifted at it and certain players aren't and thats why it should be it's own attribute rating. and not have to depend on hoping they have the good animation like in 2k13
