I wasn't asking, can you read? I asked whether you do that too

be nice, he simply misread what you wrote. no need to get offensive with statements like "can you read?"

Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread

Does your MP decline with age? Because my Rookie PG is currently 19 years old, and just finished an All-NBA First Team season...Rookie of the Year...All-Star...23.4 PPG/9.4 APG/3.3 RPG/1.4 BPG and I'm shooting around 55% for the regular season and the playoffs; always Top 10 in Efficiency, PER, WS, TS%, EFG%, etc. and our new team, with three stars and a deep bench have made us a Top 3 team in the league.

The progression of production and stats would increase as time goes on, as I'm currently in the playoffs and only a 78 OVR. I'm still learning more on how to create shots off the dribble, and I'm trying to become more of a passer than a scorer, especially when we have Melo, Amar'e and an extraordinary bench when used correctly. I also want to tone down FGA. When I play an efficient game and get to the line a small amount of times, I can still score 20 points while only having 10 FGA. I want to average more assists, somewhere between 12~15 APG.

So...does your MP decline and progress realisticlally in their careers? Or will I be a 15-time All-Star in a 15 season career?

===

Also, referring to how I want to improve my skills, I have the following maxed:

-Close Shot
-Inside Shot
-Mid Range Shot
-3 PT Shot
-Layup

Which attributes most influence your ability to get into the lane? And is Speed or Quickness more important? My PG is bigger at 6'5" and 200 pounds, so he doesn't have the natural speed to get into the lane with sheer athleticism.

Thanks.

My PG/Knicks is ATH (Ovr:83) with very good speed (91), quickness (90) & strength (40), and its work getting into the lane.

IMHO, its ABILITIES, dribbling and layup . You ability to breakdown defenders on the perimeter allows you a MUCH WIDER lane to the hoop to launch the burst "animation".

I like to Hop & Pop, so he needs a "Good" In and Out, Step Back for the way I play to take him to the "next" level. However, I do like to go to the hoop, so a "Great" crossover would get this done.

I just started a SG -Scoring that has Average Dribbling skills and he can get into the lane on just ONE move despite the fact that his Speed (75) and Quickness (67) are poor because I use dribble moves and DON'T RELY ON on sheer physical skills (something I continue to learn the hard way).

Athletic Guards get alot of physical skills and average Layup ability but they start with POOR Shooting and Average Dribbling Abilities.

Last but not least (85 plus) Team Chemistry, your teammates set better picks for you to get into the lane...finishing and getting fouls called is another matter.

The more experience I get with this SIM, the more I am finding that MAXING the OBVIOUS attributes is not always the best route. A balance between saving for Abilities and not adding too much to certain skills IS MORE EFFICIENT in making a Superstar.

If you take a peak (Edit)(Roster) at some players that are giving you trouble or you feel are mediocre (On Defense); you will find that they have an Ability that is far superior to your My Player.

A real Pain: Rodney Stuckey - Pistons; Abilties: Spin Layup/Dunk: Great ; All his dribbling abilities are Good and his Spin is Great. Sure his speed (85) and Quickness (90) are decent but not impressive for a Guard, nevertheless, you can't keep him in front of you and out of the lane....AGGRAVATING

The messed up thing is that the generated players come in with high abilities, even the 50-60s players.
It should be higher to start off higher abilities.

Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread

Hey guys, need a bit of advice here.

MyPlayer is a 6'3" PG playing for the Magic. I am looking to improve upon my off-ball offense, and keep getting sucked into defenders and able to run freely around the court.

My attributes are:

99 Speed
99 Quickness
81 Off Awareness
35 Strength (if relevant)

Any tips or specific attributes I should be buying? I'm okay at using the triggers to make cuts, but on diagramed plays I have a hard time running long arcs and towards the basket.
