So for example I start a 12:00 min game as the Raptors. At around the 10:30 mark I do a sick windmill for Vince Carter. As the game approaches 5:00 left in the 1st quarter Carter will rarely do any more fancy dunks but more basic dunks.

They should bring this feature/realism back. In real life when players get tired being in the game so long without rest, they don't do as many flashy dunks(except some elite players like LeBron).
The fatigue effect is already in the game for dunking, ball handling, speed, vertical, shot success. Everything really.

I loved 2K2's dunks. Pure gold!

True but I can still pull off sick dunks without rest.

Re: NBA 2K9 > NBA 2K10

I enjoyed 2k9 more than 10 but that was just because 9 was my first 2k hoops game. I was all fresh and new and I really got some play out of it. No argument though that 10 was a better game but it's not near the step up some of you are saying. IMO the improvements were tweaks while the core gameplay was mostly the same.

My feeling is that even at the ends of games, after NBA players have poured in 40+ minutes, if they've had a chance to catch their breath for a moment and then find themselves on a breakaway, they can still bust out something special. Unless my players' fatigue was into negative numbers, I'd be bummed if a quality dunk was compromised. A chunk of Vince's best dunks occurred toward the ends of games when (in 2K's terms) his fatigue would be pretty low.

I always tried to figure how 2K's dunks went backward from 2K2 forward. When I first played 2K2, it was the dunks that stuck out the most. Coming over from NBA Live 2002's backboard seizure inducing arcade slams, the realism brought forward by 2K was readily apparent at the time.

Actually 2K2 dunks weren't that great compared to 2K1. 2K1 had much more variety in-game. I see the same dunks in 2K2 way too often. Trust me because I've played these two enough to know and I still play them time to time.

I do wish the bring back the passing out animation when you keep your guys in there tired. I thought it was funny. I guess they can make it when he don't have the ball he is bending over tired w/ his hands on his knees.

Re: NBA 2K9 > NBA 2K10

After reading this thread, I would admit that NBA Live '98 was the greatest NBA game I've ever played. I recall playing that game and being blown away by the realism - and I also believe there was no such thing as sliders...you simply played it as is.

(And Tony LaRussa Baseball as well, but I digress...)
