I don't know about you, but one of the things I have been least a fan of in NBA is not feeling like the dribbling is intuitive to what I am doing with my controller at all times. I think there's going to be a huge focus on changing that this year and making it all about reacting to what you want to do. But I'll let the devs speak to that as we move along. And by "changing" I mean advancing/focusing, not overhauling. "

i hope the defense gets the same treatment with more control....there are just way to many trigger animations where the defender gets stuck in an animation when an offensive player initiates a move...

Come to look at it, the "feel" that was 2k which was getting stale to me, was actually the lack of a responsive dribbling and movement system. I was tired of pressing specific button combo's that didn't correlate to what was being shown on screen. Go back a few iterations of the title, and you'll find that you can perform the move you want, at the time you want... without worry that you're going to do the wrong move. Last year, I had to use two dribble modifiers, twirl the left stick 360 degrees, rotate the right stick in the shape of a star, press x four times repeatedly, followed by RB, LB, RT, LT, x, a, x, a then Start... to get a simple crossover. Exaggeration, yes... but dribble moves shouldn't come at the cost of pushing the right combination. We're not playing streetfighter. We just need a responsive dribbling system, that what you do with the stick, will somehow correlate to dribbling on screen. Live's dribbling system has been pretty good, but I prefer to keep the right stick as shot stick only. I don't want to mimic Live's system.

Asking for a lot? Yes... But it was almost perfect in years past.... and I feel that if they could just go back to what made Isomotion successful, then it'd prevent the game from getting stagnant/stale/scripted/canned/unresponsive/insert word here, and allow me to once again enjoy a stellar bball game, with stellar AI.

End of rant...
Agree on all counts. Very interested to hear more about both animations and successor to isomotion.

I really hope we have not seen the last of the shot stick. It is the perfect method of shooting in basketball games and I can't imagine going back to buttons. Why does everyone want to see Isomotion gone? Don't really get it. Yes it would be nice to have more moves, but the system works really good as is.

Maybe it's because I'm strictly an online player, finding the CPU to be either way too easy or too hard , but I feel the gameplay is really not a huge area of concern. People complain too much about so-called "exploits" but the reason this is my favorite sports series and my most played game yearly is because I truly feel like almost anything can be countered if you play basketball the way it's been to be played.

What really needs to be fixed is the lame servers and the variety of gameplay online. Would love to see different variations of ranked games. Difficulty, Time length, etc. I've never understood why there isnt a separate ranked match section for customs teams built through Association or something like that.

I also hope the Jordan cover means legendary teams, and a Legendary Ranked Mode using the those teams. It'd be cool to go back and use the 96 Bulls against the Kobe-Shaq Lakers, recreate the Magic/Bird rivalry or take some of those great Reggie Miller, Patrick Ewing, Charles Barkley, Clyde Drexler (Blazer) teams that didn't win it all and play with them.

Guys, for the last time...

THE SHOT STICK IS GOING NOWHERE.

If anything, they would upgrade it significantly to combine with their new dribbling system.

FINALLY, one of the worst features in the history of sports games is gone...2k has earned $20 from my pockets, let's see if they can get the other $40

I liked Isomotion. It could just have been implemented better.

Remember when NHL 2K8 dumbed down its controls and fewer people liked the game? Hopefully we still get rewarded for knowing the controls (triple threat and the like).

It would be weird if they do right stick dribbling the same year Live/Elite does the shot stick.

Isomotion was the one thing that kept me away from 2K since 2K8.

This is great news IMO.

Go Wang!
