Imagine having to update hundreds, if not thousands, of athleticism ratings.
That's obviously (and more importantly, demonstrably) much faster than updating the art for each individual face. It can be done in a few hours. Can an artist tackle more than 4 players in that same time period?

You do the same thing for another aspect of the product. Just sayin’.
Sorry, but I don't act like it's the end of the world if player X is two points too low.

(If anything, most of my ratings discourse is EXPLAINING and JUSTIFYING why Player X got said rating.)

When I do pull that card, **** actually gets done, because I'm able to articulate specific problems and specific solutions. Last season I dropped the hammer on Play Initiator and how awful it was leaguewide, using specific examples of how ****ed it was. They went through and cleaned it up within DAYS.

So here's an idea. One of those modders should make a step-by-step video with the techniques used to update Anthony Edwards' face. If they are really "altruistic" fans of the game who want 2K to have the best product possible. Because that is actually tangible information that 2K can use and apply.

My point is that I don't either. Complaining into the AEther makes you feel better in the short-term. Guess where putting in the work to develop executable solutions leaves you?

I like how you quoted my post but then somehow added something I never said to make yourself feel better. Weird.

Hilariously, I just responded to myself.
Gaffed bc posting from a phone while commuting, rather than my PC.

These are definitely my words, intending to be a response to the "You do the same thing" portion, ended up rephrasing, saw this later during formatting and added the block quotes & response.

TLDR: I don't complain about ratings, and it isn't Apples to Apples anyway.

Why in the world was some 2K artist pouring their sweet time into making such a fantastic-looking end-of-bench player on the ‘85-86 Hawks, for example, when Ant still looks the way he does? It’s either awful resource management or 2K is in a contractual bind and can’t fix him even if they want to.
Well, I do think those retro players have been a major priority over the last few years given that they've been adding all this Eras, and perhaps more specifically Draft class content. I wouldn't anticipate them revisiting these current players UNTIL they are caught up on their extensive Eras backlog.

It hasn't been mentioned yet but Two-Way contracts and the expansion of rosters have changed the roster landscape.

There are like 200 additional players per season than what there used to be. That's a major crunch that 2K needs to handle, and with very little payoff as only a handful of these guys have meaningful careers.

87 NBA players are on Two-Way contracts at present. That is 17% of the league.

There are currently 140(!!!!!) players in the Free Agent Pool, on top of the approximately 520 currently on a roster.

This season, there have been 25 different players on the New York Knicks.
By contrast, in 2003 they had a grand total of 13 players suit up for them.

Dmytrio Skapinstev signed a Two-Way on Dec 22nd, played 2 minutes, and was waived 10 days later. I imagine that is a frustrating feeling (and probably all too common nowadays) for the people who had to drop everything to design him the day he got signed. There's a new player popping up mid-season every few days.

I was going to find examples where you don’t complain but that won’t achieve anything (you’ll probably counter with there’s nothing to find) but you keeping riding on your high horse brother.

In other words, you don't. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

This is a very good point. We basically get the two-way guys in game within 24 hours of them being signed in real life, even though the vast majority likely won't ever play a meaningful NBA minute.

I complain as much as anyone about attention to detail sometimes being lacking with stuff like injuries and salaries, but how many sports games provide what is effectively a daily roster update throughout a season? Not to.mention the Start Today stats being kept up to date as well.
