The annual "Why does 2k put music that caters to their audience??" thread. Never fails to bring a good laugh 😂

Well to be fair, this is an OS article. Not a random user creating said thread.

Yea I agree. I'm a hip hop junkie but always enjoyed it when 2K had a mix of genres. 2K16's soundtrack was perfect. Hip hop (new and old), rock, international, etc. Was really a cool, musical way of showcasing how global basketball was

What I'm saying is every year the 2k soundtrack is posted and people here act oblivious to why these song choices are made and recommended music that 90% of the fan base isn't trying to listen to. Gives big YouTube comment "real hip hop" energy. You got people in here still talking about "mumble" rap for christs sake lol

It seems like every year the 2K sound track pays homage to the Hip Hop anniversary. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Got excited when I saw the title of the post.

Give me some Eric B and Rakim (appeared on a couple of 2Ks in the past)! Heck, the Digital Underground would be fire on 2K. Imagine balling it up while "Doowutchalike" is playing.

Usually most 2Ks have a few songs that I end up liking quite a bit. I only liked one or two from last year's 2K (loved the one that sounded like a '60s-'70s soul song and I gotta be vague because I can't remember what it was); thought its soundtrack was largely trash asides from that.

And just because McDonald's is the most popular food joint in the world doesn't mean everyone wants a burger or nuggets every day from there for lunch every day.

I'm no boomer or old head, & rap is NOT my 1st choice of music, but as a 27 year old, I fully respect & see why these guys on here prefer the classics over "mumble" rap, because the facts are that 90s & 00s hip hop is far better than today's stuff.

There's a reason why you're still hearing 30-40 yr old rock classics at sporting events; those songs stand the test of time, something every single one of these new rap songs made from 2008 onward can only dream of being.
