Re: MLB The Show 14 for Vita

I don't remember there being a replay mode in last year's game. Am I just not recalling that?

You DO have the ability to go back and instant replay something yourself, and it's pretty cool.

I just had my first real bad slowdown on a foul ball. Like, chunky soup bad.

I gotta say, the parks look MUCH better than I remembered.

JUMPING AROUND HERE.

I turned on Playoff Mode, playing as the Pirates. Made it five pitches into a playoff game against the Reds, and suddenly I'm looking at the bullpen screen. No explanation, no nothing. I tried to back out, couldn't. Says, "You must replace F. Liriano." So I guess he got injured? Sucked that the announcing team didn't mention anything.

I haven't seen any walk-ups yet, but what's weird is you're given the option to pick a walk-up theme when you make your RTTS guy. Maybe that's info they utilize for the PS3/PS4 version or something? Whenever a new guy comes up to bat, however, it only shows them in the batter's box.

"Coming up to bat now is Starling Marte" or whatever.

Manual replays, not instant replays. We've been able to do this since MLB 12.

I swear I did not know this. I have been playing since MLB 12 and have never used it...

Isn't it like the first option in the pause menu?

Here's just an example of a video I did back a couple of years ago. It's a nice feature to have on this device. I wish we could capture and save replays like the PS3 version though.

Re: MLB The Show 14 for Vita

I literally have no idea, with the absurd amount of games I have played that I never knew that. I need to go take a nap.

Glad to see someone got it already to shoot some impressions.

Re: MLB The Show 14 for Vita

It seems to really slow down whenever the camera turns to show the stands behind home plate. So, foul balls, home runs, and maybe (though I haven't seen this yet) plays at the plate.

I'm going to pull up last year's version to see if I can really see a difference between player faces and stadiums.

I can definitely tell you that the ambient sounds are much improved.
