Thanks guys!
Yes...but they don't show up until following the season on your roster.

Re: MLB 14 The Show Q&A with the Community (PS Vita)

I believe this was asked before, but is there a work around to editing player appearance on the vita for created players? I noticed if I edit the appearance of players from a new roster it doesn't register in-game. This is particularly annoying because of the bee-sting/chipmunk faces for the vita models so if I try to change a players appearance it doesn't register at all (it will change in the edit screen, but the picture and in-game model is the same). Any way to fix this?
