Re: **All Trades Discussion Thread** 2011 Edition

It would really depend on which prospects. Luckily, I have more than enough prospects to use as trade bait.

Considering an ace-type AND power-hitter should be on top of your shopping list, i'd probably deal from strength which is their pitching...U seem to like duffy so u prolly wouldn't let him go....i guess that leaves montgomery, lamb, odorizzi, dwyer, etc. I'd only trade montgomery/lamb for ace-types or proven middle-of the lineup mashers.....Just with the royals, it's not filling one hole....and nobody wants to mortgage their entire farm just to concentrate on winning for one year...

I just started a new franchise with nyy.

I've must;ve tried at least 50 trade combos in trying to land Miguel Sano from minnesota.

Re: **All Trades Discussion Thread** 2011 Edition

The decision to trade Prince has really paid off. Not only do we now have three young up and coming players, but they have played great for us as well.

Prince has been slumping hitting around .263 with 22 HRs. When we received Ike Davis he had 19 HRs and 49 RBIs while hitting .255. Well he has hit 8 home runs and 18 rbi in the last ten or eleven games. He is just killing it. He is third in the NL with 27 bombs. And his average is now up to .267.

Now we are at the All-Star break with a record of 45-47 and a game and a half behind the Reds. I would like to make some kind of trade for a pitcher on a non-contending team. Who do you guys think I should give up to make that a realistic possibility?

I'm more likely to trade someone like Lamb or Dwyer. Duffy and Monty are both close to the show and I want Odorizzi around because I don't have a lot of big talent coming up that's RHP. I'm looking for the future which isn't always easy to do in this game but it's going to pay off.

Well I wouldn't necessarily have that mentality...If your in contention by the trading deadline, u have to try to win at all costs....U jus can't be afraid to trade big-time prospects for proven veterans.....I'm in the same exact boat as u..I'm playing with a small-market team (Pirates) and i'm doin very well through 85 games...Granted, i haven't been scouring the trade block but i will have to soon...Like your team, the pirates don't have a bonafide ace, and like u, im VERY hesitant to unload top prospects..In your case, the royals have more pitching prospects (and prolly hitting prospects for that matter) then the Pirates, so the blow wouldn't hurt that much as it would for a team with a barren farm system

Daniel Hudson (ARI)
Carlos Zambrano (CHI)
Ryan Dempster (CHI)
Matt Garza (CHI)
Heck maybe even Ubaldo J. (COL)

Then not sure who you still have on your team but just trade some of your top prospects or good prospects to try and win it.
