does anyone actually use guess pitch

Oddly enough, I used to use it (no feedback is a must, IMHO) but not so much anymore. Can't remember the last time I used it.

I use it. I think it's fair to say that a batter can be looking for a pitch in a certain spot in real life. If he doesn't get it, he adjusts. Just like here. It actually helps me walk more b/c early in the count I'll lay off anything that's not in the zone.

I do, and I actually think it makes the game more realistic. Why? Because hitters guess at the plate and if they get it right then they pound it, and if they are looking for something differnt they wind up getting fooled. As an example, I'm just saying if any of us went to play baseball, got up to the plate and did not say this to yourself "Fastball, Fastball, Fastball" or "Curveball, Curveball, Curveball"

Great post Chuck! I agree with everything you wrote. I fail to understand why others can't contemplate the different skill levels of fans of The Show.

I currently am using GP off, but am struggling so badly to hit that I think I'll go back to it for a few games.

The only thing unrealistic about it is that if you guess incorrect, it immediately lets you know if you are correct or not, thus you can eliminate that zone from your thinking. I use the feature and i like it, but I think it should give you the feedback when the ball is coming out of the of the pitcher. Thus, you'd have to react quickly if you guess wrong, not have all day to refocus on another zone.

Are you talking about when you use the Plate coverage indicator?

No I was referring to guess pitch. If you guess the pitch right, it obviously lights up the zone and makes the click sound if you guess the pitch right. Well if you don't guess either right, then nothing happens, which immediately lets you eliminate the pitch you chose and the zone you chose from the possible pitch destinations. So my point is that in real life a hitter is locked on that pitch or that zone and doesn't have several seconds to realize either selection is wrong, which is what you can do in the game.
