AH!!! F****N Jeromy Burnitz......i had completely wiped that **** from my memory.

Seriously.

If someone would have asked me to name teams he played for, I might not have been able to say "Cubs".

*sadness*

Re: 2009 Chicago Cubs

Man, I wish I could have seen Theriot's granny. I bet he was pumped like Hans and Franz.

With at least one more AB today, Brad-Lee's average is up to .327.

As i am typing, Cotts walks the leadoff man in the 7th with a 1 run lead.

the Cubs' staff has set a record with 156,489 walks in the past 4 games.

also good to see Lou shaking up the lineup a bit...Brad-Lee at 3-4, the team's leading hitter on the pine.

Anyone willing to gather bail money for me, if I go and break Neal Cotts, so that he never pitches for the Cubs again.

Re: 2009 Chicago Cubs

well he got out of it with 2ks.

Soto with an rbi single, putting runners on 1st and 3rd with 0 out and Miles up...I hope Lou goes for the sac bunt to stretch the lead to 3, with Fontenot behind Miles.

nope...they are so lucky Miles didn't ground into a DP. WTH? isn't this the national league? What is wrong with having a guy like Miles sac bunt here? Reed Johnson on third, good speed...sheesh.

Well a bad April is behind us maybe with the win yesterday the ship is getting righted and we can click off 9 or 10 in a row.

Team is way to talented to play just .500 win percentage, they will pick it up though I doubt they will have nearly as good of a regular season as last year though I expect 88-92 wins.

Lilly pitched great today and we are seeing the Power machine of Theriot equaling Derek Lee in power on the season.

Re: 2009 Chicago Cubs

Lee has quietly brought his avg above .200.
An rbi double a couple games ago, a HR in a 2-4 day. Hopefully it is an upward trend. I don't expect even 15 HRs from him (how sad), but hitting .280 would have to be considered a victory at this point.

Hoff is above .320 in spot starts and pinch hitting. If the Cubs are not on top or very near at as July comes around, and the current gap between Lee's and Hoff's production is the same, it will be TERRIBLY FRICKIN hard to justify Lee's continued presence 1) in the middle of the order OR 2) in the lineup at all.

How excited should we be over 2 consecutive wins? I say not much until it is 4.

I know the Marlins are slumping, but that is a quality lineup and an above average team, so I am more than willing to take the series win.

Any given day Zambrano, Lily, Harden, or Dempster can do more than enough...regardless as to whether the offense scores 6+ a game, if the team gets 2 good , consistent trips through the rotation, April can be put in the rearview.
